Buying TL-S Tomorow...Black or Silver
yeah its official gonna go get one tomorow...i have quotes over the internet from a dealer for 35495 including destination(CANT PASS THAT UP). Actually just using that against another one.
i was all set on the silver with ebony interior, but im looking at the black and falling in love with it. i have had black all my life and im sick of the chips and swirl marks, thats why i wanted silver. just wondering how the acura clear coats are??
nothing in my opinion beats a shined up black car.
so the choices
1.) SILVER with ebony
2.)BLACK with ebony
3.)BLACK with taupe

I have a Black TL now I loved it at first, but after having it awhile and seeing minor imperfections in it makes me really hate myself for getting it when I should of gotten a silver or dark silver color. I'd suggest the silver not black.

My 2G TL is black and it looks so nice when its actually clean. Right now its a pit and it normally is. Its so hard to keep black cleaned and I think silver looks just as good so I would say the silver.

As much as I loved my black car when I used to have one, I am glad that I bought a silver 07 TL-S. It's much easier to keep clean and hides a lot of little imperfections that you will see in the paint as the car gets older.

1 vote for Silver here.
I didn't like the aluminum/chrome trim's contrast with the black, while trim looks classy with silver. Also, I'm lazy and do not like to wash cars (and am too cheap to have them washed, for that matter), so dirt and dust are better hidden in silver than black.

I have the Silver Type S with Ebony/Silver interior and it looks wonderful. I didn't think I would like the Rims but they look great against the silver of the car. I've had the car since Friday so maybe I'll stop being lazy and post pics tomorrow .

Black by far is the best looking color for a car......but you must baby it and even then. Silver I like on other cars but I don't like it on the TL..just my oppinion.....I think the best colors on the TL are black, white, charcoal or whatever they call it and maybe the red (only seen in pictures) I have a Black w/ parchment...I was getting black w/ black but I'm very happy with the parchment two tone affect! I think it also depends how long you plan on keeping the car and how much time you spend on the care of the car!..... I think there is a reason you've always had black....I fight with that everytime I buy...but always chicken out and stay with black in fear that I'll reget it later! Good luck!....I guess I vote black...what a tough decision!

I have a Redondo Red Pearl '05 TL and I love it, but it's not as good as silver (I've had 4 silver cars in the past) as hiding the dirt. Swirls, rain spots, etc. won't be an issue with silver at all. Not sure I would love having the TL-S's graphite rims with silver though....

im picturing both cars with 20%tint and it truly is giving me an ulcer. this is my first new car and the first time i can actualy have true choices.

black with taupe... Silver (along w/ green) is possibly the most unattractive, unintimidating color a car can have. It's ultimately your decision, and hey, a TL is a TL in whatever color it bears, but IMO, the darker the better.

I chosed SILVER with ebony and that is what I recommend especially if you are staying with the stock rims. My last two cars were black and while they were beatifull when clean, the black would show any dirt, paint chips etc.
In the end it's your decision so go with what your gut tells you.

Three Wheelin'
i dont know if they fixed the paint issue with lighter colors where you can see the difference between lets say the rear bumper and the car itself. The bumper was always darker as they could never match the color on the plastic and metal. So far every silver tl i saw had that issue, some more some less. the only ones that didnt were the non-metalic colors !
I used to have a silver but now have a black TL and when i compare the pictures the black one always looks better.
If i were you id go for a black or even a red one cause not really many have it and it really looks good.

The Carbon Bronze pearl is the best color for the tl-s by far. Between the two though, black or silver, get the silver for it is far easier to maintain than black. All of the black cars we service here at Acura at Oxmoor have minor imperfections in the paint no matter how well they are cared for. But if you haven't seen the carbon bronze...then check it out.

my vote would definitely be for black/taupe...i think it is the best looking color by far if you are willing to put forward the time for washing, waxing, etc.

I like black/black. That is what I bought. Ask me in a year or two and I probably will be against black exterior. Gotta go with black interior no matter what the exterior color though...

06 TL 6spd. Navi/A-spec
I have black on black and love it but the silver looks nice also, yes black does look bad when dirty and shows swirls but if you try to take good care of it you should be fine, i even bought a tl car cover to shield my cars paint from the hot Florida sun when it is parked outside all day at work. Nice choice with the silver love the type s!

If you have all the time in the world to clean your car, get the black.
I had a black 05 TL. blk/blk, I WENT NUTS TRYING TO KEEP IT CLEAN!! For that reason and the dealer smashing the front bumper, I now have a 06 ASM with blk.
Believe it or not, I find that black interior is EASIER to keep clean. It shows less dirt.

Personally I love my Moroccan Red with Taupe. But if I had to pick between black and silver I would take silver with the taupe. Black is a pain to keep up with (although if you can the results are great) and I love a light interior

Black is a much nicer colour but its such a biatch to maintain. If you are a lazier person, get the Silver, if you love washing and waxing your car, get the black.
I've had a Silver and a black car....silver was much easier to maintain but black is much sexier. Your call

Happy Holidays!
My previous car was a black 03 Accord and that thing was a bitch to keep clean. It would get dirty easily and swirls would develope. It drove me insane. Then on the Type S I decided to go with White ext and ebony/silver interior. The dealer tried to sell me the white with taupe interior but I didn't really like it. White leather gets dirty easier. Also, the dash is black, which contrast with the taupe seats. I much prefer the all black interior. Coming from a black car, I didn't want to maintain another black car. But if you can keep it clean, it looks awesome--day or night.

Through the years all I bought were black cars as there is no other color that looks as good when washed and waxed. Problem is they do not stay clean and they show dirt and dust like you would not believe. As much as I like black I don't think I will ever own another one until I have enough money to pay someone to wash it every couple days, get the silver and make sure you get rid of those nasty stock rims. Why the Type s did not come stock with 18's I will never understand, I love the A Spec rims on my TL.

Previously had a black on black 03 Accord Coupe........... what a pain in the a$$ to keep looking good. Black is beautiful as long as you are someone who has the time to wash/wax/buff each and every day.
For this reason I bought my ASM......... always looks good !
