Buying 2006 TL 5AT
It's been awhile since I have been on the board. As you can see from my signature, I used to have a modded CL-S that I bought new but sold several years ago. I have a 2008 M3 but I needed something else nice, fun to drive and reliable for my daily commute of about 80 miles round trip. Even though I had tranny problems (3 transmissions) on my 2001 CL-S I decided to come back to Acura. I am buying a NBP 2006 TL with 107,000 miles. As an added bonus, it does have the A-Spec kit. First order of business will be the standard 105,000 mile service. I don't officially buy the car until this weekend. Is there anything I should check into before I complete the purchase? While I am familiar with Acura, I am not that familiar with the TL and any known issues. Thanks and it is good to be back on Acurazine!

06 Anthracite TL
New tranny fluid and 3rd and 4th gear switches (search for the link- is in the 3G garage)
Oil change
Brake fluid change
PS fluid swap.
New plugs
Drive for the next 105K miles
Mine is an 06 and has been great over 75K miles. With routine care, there's no reason these cars can't easily exceed 300,000 miles.

Yes, you do it now while the tranny shifts normally (the switches can become faulty with time, so if you wait until the transmission is having issues, it might be too late). The switches are relatively inexpensive, and I had Goodyear install mine at a cost of $29. With just a few minor maintenance items and assuming the car was well cared for in the first place, the TL should be a long lasting car for you.
