please list the price before tax and tags. That OTD price is great if you live in Maryland, not so great if you live in VA for example.

I believe the negotiating price also depends on where you live (supply and demand theory)....

I live in PA and I purchased my 05 TL (w. navi) in November and the sticker was a little over $36,000; so to me your offer of $34,000 is a bargain.

Good luck - you won't be disappointed!

Hi there leedogg -
I'm curious why VA cars would be sold cheaper? I'm thinking I should have went there to buy! LOL.

Because OTD - Out The Door prices for VA involve a 3% state tax for virginia residents, whereas in Md, OTD involves a 5% sales tax for Md residents. This correlates to a significant OTD discrepency between states. Even if you were to come down to VA to purchase your vehicle you would still need to pay your own state's tax regardless. So if you really want that lower price, you would need to move there, but dont pack up just yet, because Va residents pay a yearly title tax on their vehicle whereas Md residents just pay that one time initial high tax.

Ah-HAH! Didn't ever think of that...PA has a 6% sales tax; may even be higher soon.

There are lots of things to take into consideration when it comes to different states and locations: Initial sales tax, yearly title taxes, yearly insurance rates...over time I think these last 2 can add up significantly more than that initial sales tax amount...

Cali is 8.25%! Sucks, but may be part of the reason why you can get better base prices here...

$34,000 OTD is pretty good. you could always do better. but, i myself, hate negotiating. i bought mine for $34, 1xx OTD. it was basically invoice plus tax, tags, title, and processing fee. some guy on here by the name of prana got his for $33,xxx OTD from Radley Acura in VA. as long as you're happy with the car, that's all that should really matter. good luck regardless.

Yeah, but Virginia has a lower income tax rate than does Maryland and in most of the closer-into-DC counties, lower real estate tax rates, too. Plus, I am told there are a few towns (cities?) in close-in Maryland that attach your income for tax as well.

Then there's this. We are more free in Virginia.

I am in NC (3%) . 34000 out the door is just a quote . don't know how much is without +++. i belive if 34000 is out the door than the actual price would be around 32.600. I am thinking about accepting the offer.

Go to carsdirect.com. It's hard to beat their prices and it will give a good starting negotiating point.

I paid $32050 for 06 Auto with Navi in New England area. This price is without taxes. Please contact me if anyone would like to get this deal. No hastle and no stress of negotiation. Simply choose your color and sign the deal. My benefit: I will get small referral.

Amazing...

Just to make sure that I wasn't dreaming up the ACTUAL price I paid WITHOUT sales tax, etc. was correct...I visited the dealerships website (www.bobbyrahalacura.com). If you build a TL with navigation you will see that they sell them at $35,940 - and like I mentioned previously that mine was listed just above $36,000 (dealer added wheel locks, and gold emblem kit) and there wasn't any negotiating the price with them; they were firm and sticking to it. Oh, they threw in the side moulding for free...

Regarless of how much I spent - I love it!
