Buy a TL in AL or SC?

Has anyone bought an 04 TL in Alabama or South Carolina? I live in Atlanta and wonder if I can get a better deal out of the city?

I bought an '03 at Bradshaw Acura in Greenville, SC... In SC our sales tax is capped at $350 on a new car, so that might save you some.

Did yours have navi? How much was it without tax. I am leasing so it is built into the payments?

For a better deal on the TL than the Atlanta dealers are offering - try the Athens, Augusta, or Macon dealers. They were all doing better deals than the Atlanta guys when I got mine. You might not have to go all the way to SC or AL for a deal.

edit - plus I think you might have to pay Georgia tax if you buy out of state and bring the car back and register it in Georgia... not sure completely though.

Mobile, AL is sticker as of last week with most navi's still pre sold.

However, Jackson, MS and New Orleans both offered $1250 off navi models last week.

Anthony Lee at Proctor Acura in Tallahasee, FL offered it to me to match the Turnersville, NJ offer of $32,800 for 6MT with navi. Look him up there.

MyJohnson,

Is that what you got your car for? Did you have it shipped to Ohio? How much did that cost?

Atlanta Dealers

I just bought my car in Altanta 2 weeks ago. You can get $1400-1800 off of sticker in Atlanta (at any of the 4 Atl dealerships). Plus you will get a loaner when you service at the same dealer. Normally dealers don't offer loaners to cars bought elsewhere. I am willing to pay an extra few hundred for this alone!

I tried to buy one in Mobile AL at Bullard Acura. Try elsewhere, they would rather keep them than make a deal. They may come a couple hundred from MSRP, but they act like they are doing you a favor.

captain,

I am looking for a navi car. I know that non-navi cars are a lot easier to get a good deal on.

at Columbia SC, Mcdaniel Acura has two Nav TL in stock... I don't know if they are what color and auto or stick. I just got my TL first oil change and the sales man told me that...

SC sales tax capped at $350 which is great when buying a luxury car (instead paying 5% on cars value)

i got mine TL auto w/o nav for $31500 including TAG + TAX + processing fee which is roughly about $2000 off msrp...

Navi

I wasn't sure whether or not I wanted Navi. I got similar offers for Navi cars as well.

That is a low sales tax, but you have to live in SC to get it. I know in TN, and probably most other states, you pay the sales tax in the state in which you live, not the state where you bought the car.

SonyTL,

Sorry, haven't been on the forum for a day or so.

I guess its confusing, since my personal info says Cleveland. I grew up in Cleveland, as did my wife and our folks and most of our relatives are still there. I'm a physician in the army and currently stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama. I live 100 miles from Tallahassee. Montgomery Alabama is 90 miles away and they have an Acura Dealership, but seem less friendly to deal with. I quoted the New Jersey Price to the Tallahasee dealership and they'll match or beat it. I'm willing to buy in Jersey. The last two vehicles I bought in Ohio, because I got the best deal there. That was when I lived in Kentucky in '96 (just an Eddie Bauer Ford explorer) and Maryland/DC in 2002 (a Honda Odyssey for the wife and kids).

Hope that clears it up. I'm sure it was more than you wanted to know.

Phat's, should have let us know you were going to go out and buy this weekend, could have sent you to the same sales person that I went to at Ed Voyles.

Thumbs up Got mine at Nally Acura in Marietta, GA

Picked mine up at Nalley Acura in Marietta a few weeks ago. Talk to the internet manager, Danielle. I got my initial price from her, then called the internet managers at Ed Voyles and Carland. Carlan beat Nalley on the same package by 400.00 and Ed Voyles beat them by 200.00. Both are a lot farther away for me so I went back to Danielle and she dropped the price to match the lowest.

They didn't have exactly what I wanted in stock (NBP w/ quartz, 5AT, no navi), so they go the car from Bradshaw Acura in SC. Came about 2 days later. I think I got a pretty good deal. I paid 31,465 (not including doc, title and taxes) and that included trunk tray, splash guards, wheel locks and paint sealant). They throw in a coupon book for service as well (they claim 700.00 in savings) and will do loaners with advanced notice.

BTW, she's a real babe!

MyJohnson,

Do you know who the Acura Dealers are in Eastern Ohio that would be willing to deal?
I'm in Pittsburgh, and I'd be willing to drive a few hours for a good deal.

She sent me e-mails trying to win my business, her pic is attached to her signature. I would concur.

Bradshaw Acura, Greenville SC

I went by Bradshaw in Greenville, SC last week for a test drive. Spoke
with a really nice salesman named Wayne. No pressure at all. I haven't talked price with him yet, I intend to do that tomorrow. Wish me luck, and I'll let ya'll know what goes down.

Just to update everyone, I placed an order with Acura Carland. Hugh is a great guy and gave me a great price on the car. He even found the color combo I wanted. One more week and my baby will be here. She was built on the 17th-20th.

I guess if the price is close between dealerships, people probably buy where they'll service it. That was the case here, I managed to get Nalley to match Carland, but I'm in Cobb and didn't want to have to drive across town. The other incentive was that Nalley gives some discount on maintenance for those who bought with them. Does Carland do the same?
