Buy extended warranty?

I just purchased a certified 05 TL with Nav. The Acura dealer offered a extended Acura certified warranty (7 years or 100k miles) for $900. Assuming it's an Acura bumper to bumper warranty (I said no before finding out) would it be worth purchasing at that price?

Hmm, I thought the warranty is already 7 years for a certified TL. Anyway, do they offer money back if you don't use the warranty during the extended period?

as far as i remember it's an acura warranty. The 7 year 100k mile warranty covers the powertrain. The acura certified bumper to bumper is 1 year or 12k miles. The extended warranty would cover the bumper to bumper for 7 years or 100k miles. I don't believe they give you the money back if you don't use it. I was thinking that was a good price for an extended bumper to bumper warranty.

If that is indeed an AcuraCare warranty, that's a great deal, take it! I think most people paid $1300-$1400 for a similar AcuraCare warranty.

How many miles are on the car? Is it 7 years from the day YOU buy it (today) or 7 years from the date the car was made (2005)?

For reference:

Curryacuarcare.com has a zero deductible 4/48000 (coverage through 12/30/12 or 48000 miles more than your current mileage) acura care warranty for $1275. The same coverage with a $100 deductible is $1175. (discount code 77177 ).
Assumes you have less that 52500 miles on the car as of now.

I was looking at what you posted, seems good. Does this mean we can take it to any Acura Dealer in the U.S. or is the coverage only good at the dealer you purchased from? I would think different dealers would offer these plans at different prices so one could shop around right?

I just read in another thread that someone purchased one from Tim for $1080 same as the curry care one for $1275. So I would give that a try too. But to the OP who is being offered $900 I would take that and run!

Any Acura dealer, yes.

Any dealer or service center? Only, if an Acura dealer is not available within towing distance (must be approved/authorized by Acura). Do the research yourself, here's a starting point:
