Butt marks help!

I am in the Concord California area, and I called my dealer, Concord Acura, about a few issues I wanted corrected. I mentioned butt marks, and before I could complete my sentence, the service writer said the dealer rep has already said NO to all seat repairs. Does anyone have any advice for me or another dealership in the bay area that has taken care of butt marks?

Do a search. You will find this topic has been discussed in plenty of other threads. How sad that this problem is so common that an Acura rep knew what you were going to say.

yea there are several of these threads being discussed right now look for them, they are probably on the first page. Anyways I am trying to get mine replaced and somepeople like hondaonly were able to get them of their dealer before acura decided to be a bitch. Good luck, and I would try another dealer, some seem to still do it.

Interesting that the wording they used was no to all seat repairs. In my mind they are admitting that they are not standing by the warranty. If they said no to replacing the seat cover that is one thing. But a repair! You have a warranty to cover repairs caused by defects in materials and workmanship. To me this a defect caused by inferior materials.

The only other alternative to to make a stink or better yet, go to a shop that does that for a living and see if they can add some padding to eliminate the butt print.

Guys, one thing about swapping the '04 seats with '05 style covers. Since the '05 seat has one extra seam sewn into the seat bottom, it also has an extra "anchor" that must be attached to the cushion to pull down the leather into the cushion. The '04 cushion doesn't have the attachment point for this hook to attach to requiring replacing the cushion in addition to the leather cover. This makes the job considerably more complex and expensive for the dealer (and Accura), so don't expect Acura to cover this under warranty unless it's a very bad case of buttprints and you have an exceptional relationship with your dealer. Getting them to swap the '04 with a '04 is relatively easy, but is still on a "case by case" basis with the rep's, and not a blanket warranty issue.
