Bulb Replacement

i have a 2004 tl, i want to replace one of my bulbs located in the headlight, i called the dealer to ask what size one of my bulbs were and he called it "high-beam" here is the confusion. What is the name/size of the bulb closest to the center. It looks like a halogen bulb. Im planning on replacing that bulb with a yellow bulb. BTW is that legal in CA ?

The bulb in the inner part of the headlight is a 9006. It is your fog light. Not sure if it's legal in CA though. I'm sure someone from Cali will know.

What do you mean? He just needs to replace one of the stock fog bulbs. Not sure why there would be any legal concerns.

OP The 04 TL has the following:

D2S Bi-xenon Low beam + high beam....
9006 upper fogs

the HID's act as your low beam and high beam....the 9006 bulb is only there as fogs...

you cannot replace the HID's for halogens....you will have to replace the HID bulb....if your a newbie then pay the dealer or a shop to change ur headlights.....9006 fogs can be changed even by a newbie.....

Yellow lights come stock as fogs on the IS300 and there are tons of those in cali driving around with their fogs on.
