Question Bubbles in tint? How long did you wait?

My friend just had his TSX tinted this past weekend at Steve's in Upland. Its been 4 days and he still has some bubbles in his tint. I searched the forum and saw that some people were complaining about bubbles in their tint after the Steve's Tinting Group Buy program.

So my question is, how long did you guys have to wait before the bubbles went away? I'm supposed to go to Steve's Tinting this weekend but I'm kind of reluctant.

suggestions? comments?

I didn't get mine done at Steves, and I just got my TL tinted on Saturday, so some of my bubbles haven't gone away yet... but with my 02 Maxima, I waited about a week and some bubbles went away... the ones that didn't, I went back to the tint shop and they fixed it for me at no charge.

Not sure about Steve's though... I'm not in Cali

It was probably not a very well done job. When my tint job was finished (AUDIOVISION & Performance in Montclair, CA), it looked extremely smooth and there were no traces of bubbles whatsoever. This is just from personal experience, correct me if I'm wrong...

It depends on what type of tint you have. If it's a ceramic tint, it may take up to a month and a half to go away. This all depends on how much you park it in the sun. Ceramic tints generally take longer since its the most heat reflective tint. Most metalized tints should clear up by a month.

Tell your friend to park his car in a certain way where the sun shines directly on the window that has the bubbles...tell him to try that for a couple of days and see if they get evaporated...however, if after 2 weeks, they are still there, then you should take it back and have them re-do the entire window...

That's a good tip. I just got metallic tint on mine, so I now know to wait about a month for bubbles to clear up, not a week like I said.

I did a quick check on my tint today though, and I don't have that many bubbles... just the critical "i want perfect tint, so the pinhole sized bubbles need to go away" bubbles. I don't have any big ones...

hey buddy with the TSX. All the bubbles will go away park your vehicle in the sun . The drying process takes about 7 days in the SUN. It has benn overcast this whole week so the drying process takes a bit longer, like i mentioned to you last saturday. I made sure before I pulled your vehicle out that there were no bubbles or flaws in the tint. If you feel other wise please come in and we will take care of your problem.

dont touch the bubbles. run the heater when you can, leave it in direct sunlight if you can. the "bubbles" are most likely some water that will eventually evaporate.

they'll slowly disappear over next few weeks.

Thanks for the replies, guys!

I hope I didnt come off sounding like I was questioning Steve's (and Marco's) work. If I did, I'm so sorry ! I decided to go to Steve's based on all the good things I read about them here (thanks again, guys!). Two co-workers were also looking for tint so I suggested that they go to Steve's also. And since they got theirs done before I did, I just wanted to make sure the bubbles are "normal" after 4-5 days and if so, how long I'd have to wait before they disappeared. Based on what you guys have said, I feel a lot better now ..

And yes, I'm getting the Formula One Pinnacle ceramic tint! See you Saturday, Marco

I had a ceramic tint done on my TL at the beginning of January soon after I got it.

It is cold here in MO, but I still have very small bubbles, but they are slowely going away.

The regular tint should cure within a week or two since it absorbes heat vs. deflects it.

mr.babeebunny I never said that you were questioning our work. No offense taken at all. Its normal for people to get worried about the little moisture in the windows. Just give it time and they will all go away. The weather plays a big role in the drying process. If this were summer weather the windows would have dried out in 3 days. We stand behind all of our work and were the big boys on the block!! SEE YOU ON SATURDAY
