Breaking in New TL

I have been reading this thread passionately for the last couple of weeks ever since I picked up my TL 2 weeks ago. Love the car, but had a question...

What is the break in time for the new TL? I remember when I bought my 02 civic that the dealer told me to not drive it hard for the first 1000 miles or so and to not even use the Cruise control for the first 700 miles. After that he told me to rev it close to red line in order to have the car "learn" its limits and open up the engine. Is this something that I should be doing with my TL now? If so, how many miles? Also, do I have to keep it at 60 mph on the freeway during the break in period?

Sorry, lots of questions, but the last thing I want to do is mess up the new investment.

Thanks ahead of time

just drive it, stop worrying about it. the motor is already "broken in".

600 miles - don't drive at constant speeds for long periods of time.

I would not push it... but you can drive it normally... I would suggest you do not go above 4000 rpms for the first 1000... I did not freak out saying I was driving the car at 75 mph for too long... That's from back in the 60s... And even if you do go above 4000 it will not damage the engine. I would not suggest bouncing off the rev limiter though...

thanks for all the help...i knew there was a break in period, so I am glad i have actual numbers now. I feel bad for the TL of the guy that thinks the engine is already broken in.

thats to "season" the motor, not for "break-in".

so for the sake of original question, owners should RTFM.
