breaking in the engine (2007 TL Type S)

Hey guys I just got a 2007 TL Type S last week and I'm a little unsure of how to break the engine in. I was talking to few people and they told me that I shouldn't go over 40 or 45 mph for the first 500 miles and no more than 55 mph from 501 to 1000 miles. If anyone knows anything about how to break in the engine could you please let me know.

It's in the owner's manual, but you don't have to go slow. As long as you vary your speed from time to time, like if you are on the interstate you can go 80 for a while, then try 70 or 85. It doesn't have to be every mile, but don't go too long at one speed. Also, the obvious, no jack rabbit starts, and no panic stops to test the brakes unless you really need to stop.

This is the procedure we have been following for all the 3G's so far, and they probably haven't changed the Type-S much, if at all. Check the manual.

The manual says no hard breaks and quick starts for the first 600 miles. A friend of mine who is a mechanic just told me to drive it how I would normally drive it and push it every now and then.
