Around how far are you guys getting on a new st of break pads? Sticking with Honda/Acura pads last longer or what. I have 30,000 on my tl and need new pads already. Just wondering

If they are the Brembo (TL Manual or TL-S) pads, 30,000 is doing good.

Some have gone before 15,000. Most make at least 20,000 - 25,000.

LOL... Mine have lasted 14k Miles... Currently on my second set at 17k Miles.. quoted 50% pads left. I'm going Rotora Racing Rotors with rotora brake pads after this brembo's run out.

I am glad that someone mentioned this. I also have Brembo pads up front and they started to squeal from time to time.

After my last visit to a dealer, they did an inspection and told me that my breaks have 5mm left on fronts and 7mm left on back. Putting the mm numbers into mileage, any idea how many miles can I still safely do on the breaks? My car had about 22k when they did the inspection.

I have 31k on the original brembos.
Last time I had an oil change, they said they were getting thin, so I ordered a set of front pads. I'm waiting for the squealer to start making noise, then I'll change them.
I just measured the new OEM Brembo front pad thickness. They were about .240 inch, or 6.1 mm.
Mlody, you have quite a few miles left.

Have you posted about how poor your gas mileage is?
Just curious...

i dont drive in NYC.....i take my car out on night time occasions or long runs to florida or somewhere else.... or it stays parked at my shop when im working there. other than that I drive my lex around.
ok i lied i did the math i got about 42k out of them.... I was close enough....when i dropped the car off at acura a month ago dude told me brakes are almost gone......it didnt even feel like i needed them....but when i took them off there was about 1-1.5mm left on the pads.

mlody by the next oil change you're gonna need pads maybe rotors as well find out if they need to be replaced or cut.

Thank you! When I saw the subject line I was wondering what part had failed on the OP's car.

I don't think you will need them that soon.

I removed my stock pads on my '04 manual TL in late April 2006 at 25170 miles with Rotex Gold Kevlars. I still have the stock pads in my garage and I just now checked them. They have 3/8" pad material remaining with 1/4" of the material beyond the wear indicators. Based on that, I estimate my mileage before replacing the stock pads would have been somewhere between 60000 and 70000 miles. My car has barely under 54000 miles on it now.

The reason I swapped out the stock pads was the dusting. It drove me nuts. Granted the stock pads work beautifully with the Brembo rotors, but the Rotex pads are fine for street use and the dusting has dropped perhaps 80 to 90%.

I did the work myself.

Hmmmm I thought he was asking how his break should be before he has to get back to work.
