Sure glad you are ok...sorry to hear you were involved in an accident.
I went to "Smell A" (LA) 1 day not long after I got the car, driving south on I-5 and traffic came to a QUICK stop. I looked in the RVM (rear view mirror) and about sh*t my pants. The truck behind me ended up next to me on the shoulder. I was in the fast lane.
I HATE I-5!!

Wow, sorry about the accident and that your car has to be out of commision for a few weeks. You really have a good attitude about the whole thing. Good for you for not being flaming mad at the guy that hit you. That's why they call 'em accidents, right? Good luck on your repairs! Kudos!

just one final post.. the car was somewhat still driveable (although it had a strange vibration in the gas pedal) so i drove it slowly to the body shop (with the hazards on and my wife driving behind me). i think the radiator was damaged so i kept an eye on the engine temp gauge. anyway, the funny thing was no matter how slow i would go, the hood kept popping up and opened all the way while driving. of course i had to pull over, and get it back down. a bit humiliating. i just couldn't help thinking how quickly an object of pride and joy could so easily become an object of humiliation. i mean it was *embarrasing* driving it down to the shop the way it was (like an old jalopy). let's enjoy the our cars and our possessions people, but at the end of the day, there's much more to life than these temporary blessings.

To matelot;

Please be careful using the term "redneck". To a white Southerner (male in particular), it's use can be derogatory.. kind of like calling a black person a n----r. Both can be demeaning.

Not a flame. Just thought you may like to know this.

thankfully both of us were okay. he didn't have his seatbelt on. i did (of course because the TL "forces" you to wear it.. boy, was i glad about that). it's in the acura body shop now being repaired. hopefully it will be back to the way it was.

if he had hit me a few feet over on the driver's door, i know i wouldn't have been able to walk away from the wreck. it looks bad, and it feels bad that it's wrecked, but i'm still very thankful that it wasn't a lot worse. beware of bad drivers! they're everywhere!

I was thinking the same thing. Good for him if he is.
