Brakes squealing...

My car is 3 weeks old and today I heard the several distinct squeals presumably from my front wheels as I ease to a stop. I don't get it on firm or hard stops, just when I gently squeeze my brakes and even then not all the time. Anyone had this problem or know the cause? Expect it is just a nuisance issue but it is irritating/embarassing to have your brand new car, which still has a temporary licence plate, doing the squealing when stopping at a traffic light next to battered, old pickup trucks.

it's a common brembo caliper trait. that is assuming you own a 6mt.

YUP, I've got it too. I just ignore it (when I can)!

i posted this before as well. seems like many 6MT owners have this problem. i've brought it in 2 times to the dealer but was unsuccessful in replicating the squealing when i was there. i hope acura finds a fix for this. its so embarassing to have this nice car squeal into a parking space and everyone turns their heads to see what the heck is going on.

My speculation would be to the fact that is the material in the pads which are causing this squealing.

I too previously made a post about this problem. It is very embaracing to pull into your driveway and your brand new car sounds like an old car about to fall apart. I totally agree that it is noticeable primarily when lightly using the brakes. I sometimes get the squeal when making a real tight turn at a slow speed. Either there aren't that many 6MT owners or, they are very forgiving to the noise.

I believe the latter would be more accurate.....mine (6MT'er here) only squeek slightly at looooooooow speeds. Like pulling into a parking spot or something. If I have my radio on or the windows up, I don't hear a thing. I'm speculating that many 6MTers might have this problem but never really know as they have their radio on too loud or windows up.

I'm not worried about the squeeling.....I just care about stopping faaaaaaaaaaast.
