Question Brake pads/Rotors?

I'm looking to upgrade my current brakes pads and rotors on my 05 TL but not sure on what "brand" to choose. The dealership told me that I can not install a BREMBO system on my car because they are only made for the TL-S and TL's with a MT. Is that true....? If you've upgraded your brake pads or Rotors, what kind are you using?

You should be able to but you will need to larger caliper along with big rotors. MT and TLS uses 4 piston caliper on the front.

For a good upgrade for the auto trans cars- see our vendor Excelerate for Rotora rotor pads and rotors, solid or slotted surface.
Many of us are on RacingBrake slotted front rotors and pads from MrHeelToe
Check out both vendors in the Off Topic section- link at top of every page, then Sponsored Sales threads.

I know he doesn't have the Brembo. You can still get the slotted/drilled for the automatic. I got posi-quiet pads that I love. No more dust. I would have black rims after 200 miles. Now I can go over 1000 miles and hardly see anything on the rim (highway use).

Slotted pads allow pad outgassing under hardcore braking conditions
Cross drilled- if done right- provide additional cooling in autocross racing type driving, and in the wet- from what I hear
I love my RacingBrake rotors and pads from MrHeelToe

get slotted, not the combo slotted/cross drilled. They actually provide lesser stopping power and are more prone to crack (read it in stoptech's magazine)

anyways, go with Racingbrake slotted rotors. They are GREAT, and last a long time.
and go with the Hawk HPS pads.

i just got that combo installed on my car, and braking has never felt better.

If you like the Hawk pads you will really enjoy RacingBrakes own in house design pads- the ET300 or ET500 series, made to work with their rotors-
now my car stops like nobodies business
