Brake Pads
Brake Pads
My 2007 TL-Type S has 16k miles and the front brake pads are starting to make a screeching noise. I'm used to getting around 25k on a brake pad. How often do some of you veteran Type S owners replace the brake pads?

anywhere from 15k miles to 25 is normal- 40k miles would be mostly freeway with no traffic
Its a big heavy car meant to be driven- but given brake pads good for mom's driving
Get better pads and enjoy the car

the TL-S brakes are the brembo ones that are much more aggresive than the regular ones. You can buy ones from hawk or other companies that might be longer lasting. If you want, I can change your title to "brembo brake pad help"
I replaced my factory installed pads on my '04 manual (Brembos, of course) at around 25,000 miles with a set of Rotex Gold Kevlars to reduce the dusting.. which they did to the tune of 80-90% less. The stock pads, which I still have in my garage, were well less than half used up, so I would estimate maybe 60,000 miles from the stock Brembos for me.
And most of my driving is in suburban/town use. Not like DC or New York, but still with the usual amount of stop signs and lights and varying road speeds.
