Brake clicking noise- is not normal and can be fixed by dealer

If anyone is experiencing a loud clicking noise each time you step on the brake pedal (coming from that area of the cabin). This is not normal, which is what I was told when I brought this up a couple of weeks ago on this forum, and it can be fixed by the dealer. I just took mine in today, we compared it to other TL's and it was clearly not normal and they ordered me the piece that was making the noise. On the two other TL's we checked both had a noise when pressing on the brake but so faint you would never hear it while driving, whereas mine you could here while driving with the radio on. I just wanted to pass this on incase anyone else is experiencing this and thinks it's normal.

Dlev,

Are you talking about this?

brake clicking noise?

I really wonder if this is really a big defect since high percentage of Honda/Acura vehicles having this issue. But, if it's very loud, it should be the problem.

Yes, I saw that other people were having the same complaint but I couldn't find anyone that said they had the dealer fix it.

Mabye my dealer is bad or this is not a big deal for most of ppl, my 94Legend and 04TL all have this issue. Definitely, it's not as loud as yours.

When I bring up this issue, dealers always give me the shxx answers.

Do you know what exact component they have changed for you? Or number? This may help ppl in the future. Thanks.

Just had the piece replaced today and it was the brake light switch. There is a switch that activates the brake light when you press on the pedal. Mine was making a loud clicking sound everytime. With the new one I can't hear anything now, MUCH BETTER.

Thanks for the update, Dlev. I've heard it in many Honda/Acura products and assumed it was normal. I have the click but it isn't too bothersome. Maybe it's worth replacing just for the sake of a totally quiet interior.

Thanks for your update. The Brake Light Switch, huh? Got to remember this for that annoying (but slight) click sound's issue.
