Braided Brake Lines - Please Help

Hi All,
Does anyone know of a good steel braided brake line kit for an '04 TL w/ brembos?

I've read tons of threads on good pads/rotors and am probably going with RacingBrake:

Front:
http://www.racingbrake.com/TL_Brembo...p/2108-311.htm

Rear:
http://www.racingbrake.com/ACURA_TL_s/4401.htm

... but I have yet to come across a good brake line kit for my TL. RacingBrake has a kit, but it says "non-brembo" which worries me:

http://www.racingbrake.com/Brake_lin..._p/bl006-t.htm.

Has anyone had any experience with brake lines on their brembo TL????

Your help is much much appreciated.

I was looking for the same. I'm surprised nobody has responded.

Is this just a "show/want" mod or are you thinking of enhanced braking etc.?

If you find good ones, for the cost you will get/feel very little in actual benefits unless you run the car at it's raged edge on a regular basis.

stainless brake lines will actually help quite a bit in enhancing pedal feel and firmness. The difference is more than you may think.....

This is true and I have also considered SS lines but our Brembos have great feel right out of the factory.

There was apparently a double-post. For responses and info on the stock Brembo brake lines & options, see https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/butt-bongo-game-%2Anws%2A-157207/
Other posters think the stock lines are stainless steel encased in rubber; I haven't checked.

Many factory lines are - or have other non-steel wrappings that are more than sufficient for the application/braking system. Thats why I made my initial comment.
Used both over the years in several different applications - some "show", some "go". Unless you have the tires, and other max effort/robust brake components,, not to mention race and or rally the car, the bang for buck (or peddle feel) is not there.

As mentioned however, if it's personal taste and a desired mod, who cares whether it has a complete functional reason or not..

+2
I was told that it would increase the firmness of the pedal. It did an I'm happy with the results.

SS Brake lines will firmen the pedal feel. The stock lines are rubber and when the brake fluid heats up the lines expand. The pedal then can get a little mushy. SS brake lines prevent this from happening.

ROTORA makes a nice setup for the TL w/ Brembo's. The lines are $160 shipped.

It's not the brake fluid temp that causes the lines to swell. When the fluid temp goes up, the extra volume is displaced back into the reservoir just like when you push the caliper pistons back in. The expansion of the lines is simply due to the hydraulic pressure being created by your foot (with some help by the brake booster).

There are some concerns about running braided brake lines on the street though. It is a known issue that dust can make its way through the steel braids and wear on the Teflon line inside. This can eventually cause fluid leaks. Several brake line manufacturers take measures to prevent this, by putting an extra dust sleeve over the outside of the ss braids. I know both Neupseed (yellow sleeve) and Stoptech (clear sleeve) have covers over the braids, but I don't think either company makes lines for the 3G TL. You can always call them and find out though. Otherwise I would probably skip the SS lines so you don't have to constantly monitor them...
