Some rich wannabe guy tried to show off in his boxster this past summer in Ocean City, so I showed the difference between fantasy and reality. Not only I wont the race, I also showed him that he has no chance to get with me.
Boxsters are slow in my opinion, they have a quick start because they're light, but that's about it. a 6MT can catch up fairly quick and pass it in no time....

2005 TL MT and Porsche Boxster have almost identical numbers (Boxster seems to be a bit faster, on paper at least, (5.9 sec vs. 6.1 sec) however I strongly believe that this is a driver's race.

base boxter is a ppor mans porsche and everyone that knows car knows that. it's almost as bad as MB 230 Kompressor which are slow as hell. now a boxter S is pretty fast 5.4 0-60.

Boxters and TL's have similar numbers because you can launch the Boxter much better than the TLs. The TL can take the boxters easily from a roll

...and you would lose anyday if your TL is AT . On the other hand MT will have good chances of winning if is properly driven.

The boxster is a poor man's Porsche. My neighbor has a fairly new, 911 turbo (a real Porsche). He challenged me to race a few times in any of my cars, but I don't feel like embarrassing myself.

Na, its completely stock. Everything was rebuilt though, and a brand new paint job. Black exterior, brown leather inside. This car's so old school with the manual choke. I love it though, not the fastest car, but it handles like a dream. I have the GSL model, which was the best back in the day. I really don't want to mod it, I like it lookin like the classic it is. I'll have to put some pics up when I get the chance.

Not true. If it's acceleration game say between 40MPH to 70MPH. I'm flooring it in my 2nd gear SSed.

You also got to realize the older non s boxters only have 217 hp 2.7 engines... Nothing really to brag about being able to hang with a car that you have about .5 liter and 50 ponies advantage. The boxter will definitely out handle a TL any day of the week...

Allright I will settle this arguement with a video....

I've got to fix the leaking gasket on my headers, and I'll take vid.

I go rock climbing every weekend with a buddy of mine, he often brings his borthers boxter ( stock except a short shifter ) .. i was telling him there's a good chance I would beat him in a race (just because of some recent research here ) he wasn't too suprised.. "Yeah, the's a chance you could beat me, this isn't the Boxster S"

So give me a week or so, there is a chance my custom CAI and my Thermo Block Spacer will be installed...

So the match will be a :

02 Acura TL Type S With Headers, Intake, Thermo Block Spacer, lowered on H&R Sport Springs and tires bald as heck...

Vs....

99 Porsche Boxster With Short Shifter, driven by and average - good driver... I'm assuming. I know he doesn't own a manual car, so I will assume he is not a great shifter.

Any bets? Predictions?
