Boring Forum
I recently joined this forum and would like to express my appreciation for how boring it is.
Before you flame, please understand that, in some circumstances, boring is good. When you arrive after a transcontinental flight, boring is good. Nothing happened and you have arrived safely.
For a little less than half a year, I considered buying a VW. Over at VWVortex, life for many participants is definitely NOT boring. The reports of battery failure/unability to start are legion. Glitches which completely prevent to vehicles from being used are described in excruciating detail. Disclosure of lemon law strategies, tactics and results are a daily occurance.
Here, the minutiae of oil change regularity are discussed with missionary ferver complete with links to obscure (for me at any rate) lubrication providers and engineering acronyms. (Good for you Roadrage! It is truly an education.)
Of course, there are discussions of transmission failures. For these, AHM seems to be seeking a rapid and reliable fix. Over at VWVortex, the reports of dealers "mindraping" their customers ("It's supposed to stall at an intersection...") are too numerous to describe.
Truly, this forum is boring, in the finest sense of the word. At VWVortex, the dogs bark loudly all and every day. Here, rarely.

Boring Forum?
RichardK01-welcome to the forum. We do have our lighter moments here, along with some truly heated threads, but on the whole, you are right, we are boring, ? since you take that to mean informative and helpful. Are you considering the purchase of a TL? Or do you already have one?
lovepo9e-are you agreeing or disagreeing?

Glad to hear it. That's what you get when you purchase a reliable car. Even the transmission problems are overexaggerated on this site. Acura makes a fine product. I'd rather talk about wheels, stereos and suspensions rather than lemon law, battery crap.

It was getting so awful at VWVortex - all the griping and constant anti-VW hate :'( .
Yes, I am preparing to buy a TL, probably in 5AT/Anthracite/Ebony/Nav. The spirit is willing, the wallet is weak. That will pass. I'll probably be a TL owner before 2005.
Any recommendations for dealers in N. NJ?

Trust me ... the reason i like the CL-S forum more .. and much more when I had the Type S was because my car used to me mod-able. Now, I'm anxiously waiting for the supercharger, exhaust kit, etc... and I'll be thriving on the modding threads again.
Until then, oil changes, good/bad dealership experiences, trannies, and "what color should I get" will predominate...

How can a forum that has a topic on Cup Holders with 95 posts be considered dull?

If anyone wants to see really EXCITING, go here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zeroforum?id=39 and do a search on "lemon."
There are loads of posts about how VW Touareg drivers have "lemon lawed" their vehicles.
Better still, go here:
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1490153 and index yourself about half way down, to a post by jsewell. If you want to see what REAL EXCITEMENT is like, look at that one!
He bought his VW last year and it has been back to the dealer more than a dozen times with a horror list of problems. How would you feel if you bought a vehicle and paid $50K+ and its primary garage was at the dealer?
Yes, Acura is boring, BORING! - in the best sense.
