You know what psheu...after staring at the two pics that Steve put on the screen, I have to agree with them...take them off! The NBP hides them, or at the very max, they are subtle and blend in, as you can see by the pics I have above. But the Silver just makes them stick out like a sore thumb my friend. It would probably look better if you didn't have them.

So you're seeing what I saw from the beginning??? I have 06 ASM, I guess I'm a little biased.

I say to leave them on, but I don't think the paint is matching.

The only reason why I think you should keep them on is because of the high line from the type-s kit. The body side moulding line compliments the front spoiler line and makes it look uniform and balanced. If you didnt have the side mouldings, then the front lip groove half-way up the front seems awkward (imo).

If you didn't have the front lip kit, then I would do away with the mouldings.

I could live with them or without them. If I thought that they were truly effective in eliminating door dings, I'd put them on. However, it has been my experience that even with BSMs, the chuckleheads out there will still manage to ding your door, so why bother. Instead, I park carefully, and use the money that I would have spent on BSMs at Dent Wizard instead when the inevitable happens.

IMO on a dark car, it adds to the details you can see, for a light colored car, it detracts from the details of the car.

I think it's just tomuch 2cent!
But in another way it's OK, for security and it's kind off create another shape. It makes a 2 side lined car lol. I draw cars in free time and the SIDE LINE in every car has a MAJOR impact in the LOOK. Just take a look at all the cars on the road (SIDE LINE) and you'll understand what I mean. Honda understood that a LOOONG time ago!

I never really cared for the body side moldings until I started getting little nicks and scratches on my doors from people who have no regard for other peoples property (They ain't down wit O.P.P). So I reluctantly got them, and they're not so bad after all. Don't get me wrong, I think the car looks much better without the moldings, but I figured more nicks and scratches would mess up the FLOW of the car than the moldings would!

somehow, the darker color cars consealed the existance of the BSM. Darksom1, your car is way too clean and shiny. they blended in with the reflection of the surroundings. you must have clean that baby every week. NBP is not an easy color to keep clean. Stella is an exception because of you

Let's see if the "Leave em ON" can catch up to "Take em OFF"

Psheu - If I were in your shoes I'd take them off ............but in the end you gotta do what you like - if you like them and feel better protected with them on then leave them on.

Thanx SteveP66, I'll need to wax and buff the car after I get back from my cruise trip. I'll have to see if the wax and buffing will take the meldew thingy off the molding. Believe it or not, I have not wax my car ever since I got it 2 yrs ago brand new. The first coat lasted this long I'll post more pictures after I wax this baby and if they still don't look right... well, you get the picture, off they goes

I added them to mine. Looks good IMHO on dark blue paint. Plus, every non-BS molding vehicle I've had has taken a beating on the sides.

Honestly - I thought I wanted them when I forst got my TL - I wanted it protected in everyway possible.......but after seeing the "with" and "without" I think they screw with the body channel already in the car.

LOOKS 1,000,000 xxx Better. Those things look like TOTAL SHIT.

Your car looks EXCELLENT NOW

I pick up my car this coming Monday and was actually contemplating putting them on........after seeing the side by side photos I will NOT be going with the molding (THANK YOU). I think it wouldn't look bad except the lines from front to back on each side that are door hadle height completely kill it.

to be honest, I don't like them, although their functional, because it ruins the lines I think? Since the lines from the front to the back which encompass the door handle are kinda arc'd compared to the straight/perpendicular/horizontal moldings, I don't think it fits well?

but hey that's my $.02
