body side molding
Body side molding can be useful if properly placed (check 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix). I think the molding rides too low to be effective. I didn't get it, but thought about asking them to put it higher. I got the door edge guards BTW.

For me it was a no-brainer. The moldings break up the lines a bit, but big old door dings break them up worse, especially with a dark colored car.

well, in my opinion, i think it all depends on the color of the car that you have...for instance when you have silver, the body side molding doesn't look so good...but on a white colored car, it can blend in fine...i didn't get it in mine, i thought about it but the silver looks much cleaner without it...but with white, i would probably get it because white isn't that SHINY as like black or silver is...this is just my opinion (no offense to the people who have white lol)...
Based on my experience, I don't think the body molding will really help prevent dings. It's too low IMHO, which makes it simply a choice of asthetics! For me, I decided NO on this one ....
I like the clean lines of the car.

I did not get them either, breaks up the lines on the car and just add's one too many.
I do park far from others or in an end spot and as close to the end as possible for maximum door swing area (MDSA)

If they have other white cars with body-side moldings on the lot, you can see whether you like the look. On my anthracite model, it looks OK. The car looks "cleaner" without the molding, to my eye at least, but it is useful to prevent door dings.
If they don't have a white with BSM, you can visit this url to see what the model will look like. Nothing like seeing it in person, but it may give you an idea.

Does anyone make a magnetic molding that can be temporarily attached while parked in close quarters? If not, I wonder where you could get a roll of magnetic material of the kind they use for magnetic sports emblems that you stick on your car on game day? With something like this, you could unroll a 12" swath down the side of your car while parked which would give your car some decent protection.

I rather break up the lines then have to have door dents taken out when they could instead be lil molding dents.
