Question Bluetooth question

What is the difference (if any) between a phone that is Bluetooth enabled and a phone that is Bluetooth enabled with Hands Free Profile (HFP). In short, are there two types of Bluetooth phones.

We are trying to get a phone that is compatible with our 04 TL w/o Nav

There's another thread that goes into great detail.
There's "Headset Profile" phones, and "Hands Free Profile" phones.
Only HFP phones work with the in-car system.
