It does Steve... Just solder the +/- of the crossover to the +/- of the adapter harness connect the adapter harness to the OE connector, and the crossover plugs to the speaker... and you're all set. It'll make sense when all the gear shows up.

Well.. back to the blue LED thing being useless, the blue leds seem to be much brighter than a red one; I have a smart phone that has both a red flashing light and a blue one when bluetooth is activated.. the led's are pretty small but when that blue one flashes you can really see it.. Blue is more vibrant and pronounced than the red

As a person easily amused by shiney things and blue things, especially shiney blue things that flash, I would do this "mod" simply because I like how it looks.. doesn't have to be functional.

Thumbs up to that - you did a fantastic job on these and that LED lights up much nicer in person than in the pics.....

haha... yeah... that's the one 2Gs don't have that I really wish they did- that bright LED blue... all that blue ambient lighting that 3Gs have is literally eye candy and when I get back to my car, the dash seems so dull until I get used to it again (not saying I don't love my car... lol )... it's funny because I love tinkering and taking the entire engine apart sounds more like fun than something intimidating, but the second you start involving electrical systems, I have to go to the pros ... hopefully, replacing this security light will help me get over this damn fear of electronics... lol

Glad to help some folks out. I'm far from done. Led mods are fun , cheap, easy, and low risk.

I can definitely relate to liking shiny blue blinking gadgets. (Exhibit A - the 3G TL dashboard.) On the other hand, what if the next car thief is the same way, and they see that light and they like it so much, they just gotta have the car?

Who would do such a thing? Well here's a news story about someone who liked an electronic device so much they stole it, and it turned out to be ... a tracking device for prisoners! http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...type=printable
LOL - I wonder if they would sentence him to home-detention for a punishment!

Seriously, that's not gonna happen for the blue blinking light, but it's a strange world out there!
