I care. Those costs eventually end up in the price of new cars.

The bigger issue is really more personal. It's about integrity. Knowing what's Right and what's Wrong is easy. *Doing* the Right thing is what's hard. I think people just want the OP to do the right thing and find it difficult to accept that he even had to ask about it.

OTOH - every now-and-then, I'll approach redline 1st --> 2nd --> 3rd before easing off and going to 4th or 5th. But then again, I've got the 5AT, so no danger mis-shifting.
lol. Crazy guy! I wish I could redline and not worry.
While cruisin' 'round town tonight I checked the spedo... 80mp/h was actually a lot more KMs than I thought!

well hes not the first person ive heard mis-shift. i know a couple of friends back in highschool all had those 96 civics that you would buy and upgrade, and some of em couldnt get used to the manual transmission (they would mis-shift often) cuz supposedly it was too small.

if you killed your engine in your own stupidity you have to be a complete asshole to try and fight with the dealer to cover it under warranty.

if the engine died for no reason at all, then you every every right to fight with them.

If you really would, then YOU are the problem with this world. Why do your kind think that someone else should pay for YOUR mistake. Learn to grow up and take responsibility. When you are the ONLY one trying to scam the system, you should start (eventually) getting the idea that it is YOU who is in the wrong.

im not saying its the right thing to do but... lmaoo.. i would much rather be an "asshole" and fight with the dealer and have them replace it.. then spend a few grand and be "morally right"

keyword was.. ATLEAST TRY to take it down to acura and see what they say...

Like the dealer doesn't take every opportunity to squeeze out of warranty repairs, so we as consumers should be all righteous and courteous and "do the right thing". Get real and stop acting like sheep - like I said before, no one in their right mind would say "no thanx" if the dealer agreed to warranty-fix the damage from a "money shift". Again, like I said before, we got some real holier-than-thou people on this board and I think most of them are FOS.

As for the cost of a warranty-repair like this eventually being reflected in the price of new cars, puh-leeeze. The price of new cars is going up anyways, and the dealer will just screw someone else either out of a warranty repair or rape someone on the price of a new car to make up the difference - it's a dirty world, people - kill or be killed.......

exactly... all these people being "morally right" this world is not run morally right and by you "being morally right" isnt gonna change anything, how the world is run, the prices of cars, how the dealership treats you etc. etc. etc. etc. etc..... get wit the real world people.. if a little argument is gonna save u thousands.. use your head

It's not like I'm looking to hustle people - bilking "innocent" people out of money or material IS immoral. But dealerships are far from innocent and most will shaft you the instant they see the chance. That's the point - it's like the say in baseball, "play the ball, don't let the ball play you". If I buy something from a little mom & pop store and then break it, I'm not gonna harass them to fix/replace it for free - but if I buy something from a company like, say, Verizon, which has entire departments devoted to shafting its customers, and break it, I'm gonna pull every scam and scheme I can come up with get them to fix/replace it for free. I'm not saying Acura/Honda is like Verizon - I wouldn't have bought an Acura if I thought so (although I am a Verizon customer, hmmm.....), but too much crap is allowed to take place at their dealerships, so I say screw em.....

Ever think that companies try to screw people because they are tired of people like you trying to screw them?

Karma is a bitch dude.

j/k. I don't golf for money.

I don't think we quite see eye-to-eye, but I'm not trying to be holier than thou either.

Put it this way:

I'm walking through the airport and find a Gucci wallet with an AMEX Black, Diners Club, etc and $2,300 in cash.

I know what I *should* do. I *know* what I'd like to think I *would* do.

But until it happens, who knows ..... . Hmmmm? New Wheels?

Temptation is a powerful thing.
