Blacking out 2007 TL Type-S

I recently picked up a 2007 TL Type-S in black. I was wondering if anyone has blacked out the car w/ headlight/directional covers? I've never done this type of thing with a car, but I've had a couple people tell me that the car would look great blacked out.

On a related note, are there any covers that are translucent enough that they are still street legal? I've already been pulled over once in the car and let go, but the cop seemed to take a long time behind the car looking at the pipes. So he liked the look or he was trying to figure out if there was an equipment violation.

Thanks!

Yep...

RockBlocker makes a kit that will blackout the taillights. They also have a kit for the headlights but be careful as this will degrade light output of the headlights. Check the threads for "headlight blackout" where members open up the headlights and paint the insides black....

I have a set of the RB tails never opened for sale if you are interested!

F that.

Covers? We don't need no stinking covers.

Black out the lights for real. Then do the grill. Hell Black out the Whole Damn Car. You'll need to search to find the really good looking cars, but here are a couple of links to get you started.

Here's a pic of my grllie just so you get an idea of what it would look like "blacked out"

NBP is the best choice you could have made!

Anything you think of someone on here has likely done it. Just do a search and you will start to drool.

Congrats on the new ride

not that it matters here, but I'm doing the same exact thing with my IS250:

$80 - Vinyl on the back lights & reflectors, leaving the front alone
$25 - Black emblems on the back (Lexus and IS250), but leaving the "L" chromed
$35 - Black grill on the front, but leaving the "L" chromed
$ 0 - Leaving the window trim chromed
$290 - Having the stock 18s that I love powder coated a semi-gloss black
$300 - Already did the 20% tint all around

$730 - Total...not too bad for everything to be done & done well. Keeping the wheels & using some heavy-duty spray paint I found at a industry supply store here in Houston is saving me $$.

I'm thinking the TL will look great blacked out - I didn't think about doing that when I bought my TL (it was silver), but I'm really excited about doing it now.
