yup according to the guy who i talked to. he said they have to give the emblem to some other company to get it done, that's why it will cost 200 something dollars for that!!

Well if that's the case, you can probably remove your emblems and find someone locally that does black chrome on plastic. Hard to find but it exists and taking his "cut" out of it will probably make the price a little more tolerable.

Honestly .. just get a can of VHT Night Shades.. and just light spray it... 10 bux and you can spray all your emblems that you have on your car right now.

I've heard of the same paint and it works great! Who makes it?

I actually have a whole thread on the process I used to do mine. Came out pretty well, IMO. Was just curious if acura actually was selling a true black chrome look!

I used adhesion promoter first...then hobby window tint (for like RC cars) and some clear...Came out pretty well!

Since your painting plastic, the promoter helps the paint adhere to the plastic.

Yeah...I redid this until I got it decent. If you don't do the promoter...the hobby stuff looks blotchy when you spray it on. Only improvement I was thinking was do a coat of the tint...then another coat of promoter then another coat of tint...I wonder if that would make it darker.

I found out the hard way (read: redid this 4 times) that there's a fine line between black chrome look and gloss black! Lol...that's why I had the broken "A" in the pictures for reference to see how much darker it was while I was spraying!
