Black emblems

So, my black wheels are on now, and ordering my type s tail lights soon. I want to remove all my emblems and only leave the rear Acura emblem. Does anyone make a black one or is my best bet to just buy a new one then paint it? And does the straight silver trim piece on the back of the car (the one on the license plate area) come off by itself? I want that black too.

Dip it for sure!, Lowes/home depot has it in the spray paint section for about 5 bucks a can, and can't go wrong when you change wheels or get sick of the black....just peel it off.

I plastidipped my stock rims and the front grill, was going to do my emblems but I have always hated taking them off and putting them back in place and doing it with them on looks like kind of a pain in the ass haha.

EJ, if you're really set on buying a set, I think HeelToe sells them.

Dipping with the emblems still on is pretty easy. Just tape a square around the emblem with newspaper and spray a good couple of coats. The edges where you don't want dip on peels right off.

I just did my type s rims in black. I tried to do the centercap A in red but the red dip will not adhere to the metal.

I've gotten a handful of compliments on it. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Just peel it off on the inside, the dip seprates at any kind of line or seam, so I just used a toothpick to get it started and the inside sections peeled right off.

Just use dip, will look gr8.

BUT if you want to get ripped off feel free to go to Heeltoe where they will charge $200 for a set of emblems.

x999 on dip.

Just remember to do a light first coat or it will bubble. Other than that it holds up very well to even a high pressure washer at a coin op car wash.

Another trick about "dipping"

Lets say, like the Red emblem above you want to do another color. Plasti-dip colors are hella expensive (they can blend you whatever you want)

Just use 2-3 coats of black, then a few coats of whatever color you want over that. Wash, rinse, repeat if you don't like that particular color or want to change it up a bit.

Plasti dip is pretty durable, I've had my on about 5 months hasn't chipped or faded, when you wash it be careful not to like scrub it, just lightly wash it, if that makes sense

I bought 4 cans and only used 3. I only did the face of the wheel though, DipYourCar.com has a YouTube video showing how to do wheels still on the car, basically cover the brakes with a trash bag then just peel the dip off the tire.

If your going to do rims, use 3x5 index cards pushed into the bead of the wheel/tire around it. That'll keep it off of the tire.

Not sure I'd want to do it on the car personally. I'd like it off and to do the entire rim, not just the face but that's just IMO.
