Best Window Tint in Tustin, CA

Hey guys,

I did a search and have read some of the reviews of getting tints done at Best Window Tint in Tustin. Seems like you guys got a deal at $160 for all windows including moleskin. I called and they are saying that the deal was until summer only. They are charging me $250 total with the moleskin. I've called around and it is the best price I've come across. What kind of tint do they use and does that price sound reasonable? Any other places in South Orange County you guys recommend?

hmmmm... Since they got rid of Carlos and have been increasing prices I wonder if they are trying to get out of the car window tinting business? I know their main revenue comes from home and office window tinting...

BTW, I did get my windows and moleskin done there for $160 and it is the best tint job I ever had done. This was in the beginning of this year and I have NO scratches.

I got my windows tinted there about a month and half ago and they did a good job. The only negative thing for me was that the darkest they can do in the front is 35%. I wanted 25% on all windows but they said it was their company policy that the front windows have to be at least 35%. But that is a really minor issue though. There's not much of a difference between the front windows and the rear windows. Oh, and I paid $190...

Did you get moleskin as well? They quoted me $190 without moleskin, $250 with moleskin.

Do you have any pics of your tint? 35% front and 25% back is what i'm thinking about going as well.

Wow! Thats a huge price difference.

I also tinted my windows at Best Window for $160 including moleskin. Solargard NR 35% fronts, 20% rears. You can find pictures in a few of the threads below:

yea i have 35/25 with a black interior and u can't really tell the difference b/w the front and back that much. it looks far more drastic on a car with 40/20. i also had mine done for 160 with moleskin about 4 months ago when carlos was there. i would call around where u are and see if you can at least find a better price for a place that does moleskin and u can also get the front tinted darker too, which is what i would do if i was getting tint for the first time.

Got mine about 2 months ago for 180 w/moleskin 35% all around. They didn't want to go 20% because of their policy. Anyway, i had to come back 3 times, yes 3 fucking times cause they did d poor job.

I also made a call 3 weeks ago and I got the same exact price quote for 190 and 15 per door panel for moleskin, which comes out to be total of 250.

They said the darkest they will go is 40% (the guy claims 40% to have the "classy look"). This is lighter than what most people here got from Best Tint Tustin even after Carlos is gone. I am not sure whether 40% is going to be dark enough even though I got an ebony interior, what color is ur interior?

It might be easier if someone tracked down where Carlos went to and deal with him at a new shop if necessary.

I have the ebony interior w/35% all around and it still look light to me, but yeah classy look whatever...I wish i could have gone with 20-25%. Anyway, on a gloomy day, 35% looks pretty good, but on sunny days, doesn't do it for me.

I have an ebony interior too. I think 40% would be too light for me up front. Even 35% looks a little light in some of the pictures I've seen. I'm soo confused as to what tint to get and where!!!

I don't have the felt. I honestly never knew about it until I read this thread. I didn't have it on my old passat and it never got scratched in the two years I owned it so I think I'm fine w/o it

i dunno if passat needs the felt, it's just that many TL owners have reported scratches on tint when felt is not installed, i guess ur TL is one lucky exception!

Not bad. Do you know what kind of tint you got? Any problems with car electronics, ie navigation?

Also, do you have any pictures? I want to see how dark is 6%.

Looks real nice. Maybe a little too dark for mee though. I'm thinking about getting around 15% all around.

I bought my car from South Coast Acura too. When did you buy? I purchased mine a couple of weeks ago.

Also, the guy over at Tint Connection wasn't recommending felt at all. He said he's done tons of TLs and has never had an issue of people coming back with scratches. He says that most places put the felt on too tight when putting the door panels on which wears out the window motor everytime you roll the window up and down. Is this true?

(This question is directed towards everyone, not just you scnick)

Just got my windows tinted at Best Window Tint in Tustin. Made an appointment on Monday for a Saturday job and was quoted $190 including moleskin over the phone. When I got there on Saturday they said no way $190 and that I have to pay $250. Needles to say I was pissed since that's not what I was quoted over the phone. They had to call the owner who approved it for $190 and Carlos took care of my car. Overall satisfied with the tint job, my only issue being that they did not clean the door panels properly, leaving smudges and watermarks on them.
Here are some pics of the job.

Well it turns out I had more then one reason for being pissed. The installers at Best Window Tint in Tustin bent a door lock rod in the process of tinting by rear left window. I started noticing the issue almost a week after I had the car tinted because I don't use the rears doors that much. Basically the little knob would not come up anymore unless I physically pulled on it while activating the lock/unlock mechanism. I took the car into the dealer and without taking the door panel off they said it might be an actuator going bad. They ordered the part and called me yesterday to go in. After taking the door panel off they noticed the bent rod and also that the window strip was not put back in properly. Tustin Acura was nice enough to fix the issue free of charge. I called the Best Window Tint today and told them about their screw-up and to my surprise they would not even offer a "we're sorry". I wanted to not only vent a liitle bit but also warn other members here, that are possibly thinking about using their services.

^Woa, good to know. Thanks for the update.

I still haven't gotten my tint yet and am not sure where I'll be going. Luckily, the sun is not all that hot these days so I'm not really that motivated.

Sooo not asking for the felt was a bad idea...I have a vertical scratch on the driver's window

I went back to Tint Connection yesterday and he will re-tint the window for free and I just have to pay for the felt. So I guess its not that bad.
