Best way to remove tree sap?

I parked my car at my inlaws for a few hours and now there is a glob of tree sap on the windshield and small dots of sap on the roof. What is the best way to remove this stuff?

Hot, really soapy water should take it off. If not, get some bug and tar remover.

bug and tar remover or diesel fuel. Both work great at removing sap and bugs. Just remember to wash the car and rewax afterwards in/on the areas applied to

I also use this to remove the sticky gunk left behind on my golf clubs from the stickers that were put on them in the store.

Its amaizing wat WD-40 can do.

Mayo is also good to remove bumper stickers (old school) or loosen the sticky holding the rear badges on the car

We dont need no stinking badges!

I read somewhere in the forums that the best solution to remove tar is a wet sheet of Bounce and OMG is it ever true...it just comes right off like a charm...
Maybe it works for tree sap.

I think we were all going for the instant removal when found technique
Whenever I see bird dropping on my car it gets immediatly removed with baby wipes!

This thread belongs in Wash & Wax because:

1) It's not specific to 3G TL, and

2) You will get advice from some experts who don't hang out in 3G TL.
