Don't know about rp. I have had it in my car for almost 2000 miles now. My car feels like shit in the mornings. And for some reason I'm getting more heat soak that i did with Mobil 1 syn. All this happen after the change.

I feel that they're both overkill, there's no noticable difference in sound, feel, vibration, or power. That's to be expected going between two 30wts that have very similar viscosities both hot and cold.

The difference should show itself as the car ages.

Now if you compare it when I went from 5w-20 Mobil One at the second oil change (Amsoil was the 3rd up to present) the engine was noticeably quieter with the thicker Amsoil and also felt like it had a little more kick at full throttle in vtec. It's possible it was in my head because even if it made an impossible 10hp difference, it's pretty much impossible to feel in a 3,500lb car.

Now that I have had the Redline in for nearly 2,000 miles I can say that it still looks like the day I put it in, not that it means much but the Amsoil went dark a little quicker. Could've just been the add pack.

After the wreck the dealer did a drain and fill with Z1. It went black in 20,000 miles. My shift quality went to crap. When I pulled the drain plug it was fuzzy like it was in the beginning of it's life. Of course that's not absolutely conclusive but it seems to help my argument that the ATD helps with at least the wear metals. I may run this fluid 30K or more with pure ATD again and see if the iron goes back down.
wow.. I wonder how much wear metals clogged up the magnefine filter after the Z1 change. That seems pretty bad that it levels off and then goes through another hard wear after Z1 is put back in.. I think if you change it out early enough where the wear metals haven't leveled off with Z1, assuming it would.. you'd notice another drastic difference between the two. It would be interesting to do an oil analysis of both.. of course higher iron levels but I would guess aluminum and nickel elevation as well..

The thing I'm afraid of is that it may not be fluid related. I'm pretty sure it is but there's always that doubt.

I'm going to cut open the Magnefine and replace the factory filter soon. If this trans is anything like the others I've used, the aluminum sheds in large enough particles to be seen with the naked eye. Hopefully there won't be too many surprises.

I've never been able to find the 5W-20 locally, so I just buy the 5W-30 from Wal-Mart.

Yeah the 5w-20 is hard to find. It should be a no-brainer for these retailers, I don't get it. Usually when I do find it, it's the emptiest shelf because everyone is buying it.

The jugs seem to be only 5w-30 at Walmart. I ran it for awhile, but I have found the Autozone deal multiple times now and prefer that. This way I get the M1 filter too and the weight I want.

It's adequate but far from the best.

Redline with a Royal Purple filter is an awesome combo.
