Thumbs up Best At&T Bluetooth Phone Poll

Since Verizon can't get their heads out of their $%^& and I'm locked in for 6 more months w/ATT. AND, you people seem to have talked me into getting the TL over the ES330 (phew, decision MADE!), I'm planning on swapping my phone out. Currently have a Siemens SL56. Love it! Shitty Service, but great little phone. Unfortunately, it is not bluetooth...Thus, I am going to "upgrade" to one of AT&T' units until....a) Verizon offers a bluetooth CDMA and b) My AT&T contract ends this fall..The choices are in the above poll....Vote Away!
Note: I see some phones seem to have issues, I’d like an “issueless” phone. Camera, MP3, etc..All junk. Just small, good battery life, and seamless TL connectivity! Was looking at the V600, but there’s no way I’m going to open the phone every time I get in the car! Tiny is good! Especially since there seems to be a useless little compartment by the shifter. Seems like a perfect phone home....Am I dreamin’....Thanks in advance!

Open the phone.....Yes, I've read in several threads that there are "problems" w/the V600 and the solution for BT connectivity is to open the phone upon activation of the TL's HFL. Is this not true?

It depends what you mean by open...if you mean to flip it open (from the clamshell design), then a solution has been mentioned on a couple threads...a solution that actually works. Otherwise, if you do not want to apply that solution (as myself), then you can just live by the fact that the HFL will answer the incoming phone call automatically (personally I find it as an interesting "feature" that makes my life easier).

Just to add that I own a V600 (so I am a little bit biased). On the other hand I got my TL in November and prefered waiting till V600 is offered by AT&T because I was not satisfied by the other alternatives, on several aspects. Do not forget that Bluetooth is a relatively new technology with many glitches waiting to be resolved.

I find that once you answer the call and it doesn't automatically transfer to the HFL just hit the call button on the wheel again and say "Transfer". The call should then be on the HFL.

I would throw the thing out the window if it answered every call! Caller ID and "choice" is a beautiful thing. Half the people that call me are a 1/2 I don't won't to deal with....So, I guess the 600 is out 'cause I am not talking to everyone and I'm cetainly not flipping the phone open everytime. Thanks but no thanks. 34k for the car and 300 bucks for a phone that doesn't really work...yea right....And incidently, I've been using bluetooth on computer for over three years now......relatively new....maybe...new....no way!

You miss the point. Phone picks up after ringing twice or three times. Plenty of time to reject the phone call. On the other hand I wouldn't care less if you buy or not the V600. Regarding Bluetooth, since you know the technology that well, you can help us tha we write code for Bluetooth connectivity (and it takes that long for the f...... code to run that I have time to spend on forums...) :banghead:

But if I reject the call, it doesn't go to voice mail does it?

If you reject the call, the call is treated as busy and is forward to your voicemail. Try it!

most phones send the call to voice mail. BTW there should be an option in one of the menus to turn of the auto ansewer when conected so you can have a choice and keep the phone closed. the best of both wolrds. LOL

I don't understand what you are complaining about. The V600 works exactly the way I expected it to work. I get in the car, the phone automatically links to the car. I walk away with it and it the link is terminated.

The only complaint I have is leaving it turned on in the car. The battery runs down because of the blue tooth link. It does not go into idle mode. If anyone is aware of a way to have it turn the link off after the car is turned off I would appreciate knowing.

I think this is a great phone.

SE T616 Works well

I have had the Sony-Ericsson T616 for less than 1/2 a year, but it works great with the TL HFL when in my car AND my Bluetooth enabled Palm when I am not in my TL. I have had my TL only a few weeks though, but pairing the phone and using the HFL was easy. The AT&T network is just ok. My wife has Verizon and I think service is better with them, but as of yet they have no Bluetooth (although I hear that one is coming soon). Be aware that some of the Nokia phones are suceptable to being hacked and some SE phones as well. After pairing your phone with the car turn OFF discovery mode and your risk is reduced significantly!

a way to turn Bluetooth off after the car is turned off

For the V600 to save battery power: Menu, Setup, Initial Setup, Power Save ON, will give the Bluetooth temporary power, then turn it OFF after a while of not being in use. The drawback is that Bluetooth power has to manually be turned ON.

if u want no problems with the phone and the car other than a little crackle now and then get the T616 but u trade off for a weak battery. The bluetooth drains the battery really fast if u leave it on all the time.

Anyone who has the SE t616 phone, when you have the phone connected with a car charger adapter does the phone turn on and off when you turn the ignition on and off? I have a LG phone that does go on and off but I know that some Motorola's don't do this and was wondering about the SE.

No. It just changes in and out of "optimized charging". I just got mine yesterday. I plugged the auto charger in the armrest console outlet and the phone rests next to the coin holder in the upper compartment (nifty little hole from bottom to top for cords). When out this morning (after 9 hours) and only 1 bar was gone from the full charge. Went to store and back... full charge again. I just leave it in there and it's already paired everytime I start-up.

I think the car-phone is back!

Question High Expectations or High Anxiety?

I have the Moto V600 but not the TL (yet).

I am expecting to pair the phone with the car once.

Then, when I get in the car, I expect the car to recognize the phone is there and take over. I don't expect to have to link it (pair it) again. I don't expect to turn anything on. I don't expect to have to leave my flip phone open in the top tray of the center console. I am expecting higher battery drain while the BT is activated which is why I will connect the 12V power cord if I am going to be in the car for more than 15 mins.

I further expect to hear an incoming call over the front speakers and see the caller ID on the MID. I expect to have the option of pressing the phone button on the wheel if I want to take the call, or not.

I expect to be able to use voice command to make outgoing calls, either by name from the 50 number phone book in the car, or by saying "Dial 123-456-7890."

Then, when I leave the car, I expect the phone to take back over and operate just as it did before I ever heard of Bluetooth. Am I dreaming?
