Best sun shade?

Hey all,

Before people beat me up, I'll say that I did a search but didn't come up with anything of useful.

So I recently got back from a 18 day trip to Germany and Amsterdam, and the whole time, I couldn't stop stressing over the dashboard on my car! (okay maybe not the whole time)

I'm lucky enough to not have any cracks yet, and before I left, I treated it with some 303, and put up a sun shade (generic walmart). We had a huge heat wave in the DC area (100+ days) and I was sure I'd get back and have a huge crack.

I got home and was happy to see there weren't any cracks; but am still uneasy abut the situation.

That brings me to my question; can anyone recommend a reasonably priced sun shade that fits well? Links and pictures would be great.

Thanks!

I agree on the covercraft shade. I personally dont have one I just use some cheapo one I got from walmart, but another guy at my work has an RL and it fits amazingly. It literally fills the entire windshield and is verfy clean looking too. I would recommend it.

I've had one for years in vehicles I've owned. I'd highly recommend getting the covercraft.

anyways i opted for the cheaper "Heat Shield". i found it on amazon for about $38 shipped ( link is click here )

it covers up the whole window shield and is only held up by your visors, you just flip them down. and you just fold it up and it has a velcro strap to hold it securely closed. i don't know what material is in it, but it's not flimsy at all. it's very durable and thick.

i have a v1 installed hardwired at top as1 line near the rear view mirror so i had to cut two slits in my heatshield so i could put it up without having to take my mounting bracket and v1 off. doing so, my driver side kinda sags down now instead of hugging right on the glass. but to me, that's ok because it still covers the whole windowshield and doesn't let any light or heat through.

I, too, have the HeatShield sun shade and I'm very happy with it. It is substantial enough to do the job well and seems to be made of good quality material. It is fit to cover the whole window as well. Mine rolls up and is held together with velcro. I think I paid 40 bucks for it... what really sold me on it, initially, is the fact that it is fitted for the TL and was cheaper than some of the others.

+1 for Heatshield. Had it for 3 years. Still works great and fits the TL windshield perfectly.

I like my covercraft. It folds up neatly and quickly to throw in the back seats.
