Best Dealer in Northern NJ
I went to open road and got a quote on a TL-S for 37,500. He said this is the lowest he can go. Im just figuring on going to Montclair Acura and seeing if they could go lower. I see people on here getting it for 36,000. Thats what im looking for.
Anyone know of any other dealers in Northern NJ that has good Reps?!

Make MyTL Great Again
Only taking about a grand off the price? seems high to me...but I don't know what the demand is like for the 07 TL-S. Try other dealers. I got my 05 Navi from Open Road in East Brunswick for 33k + ttl = 35418.

I went to Open Road in East Brunswick last week to seal the deal on a TSX and they outright lied to me. The saleman acted clueless as if he forgot our deal and the finance manager outright lied to us. I walked out on the deal and would never do business with them.

Try Springfield Acura or Acura of Ramsey. I'm getting a 2007 Acura TL w/ Navigation System for invoice plus FREE all-season floor mats, trunk tray, and wheel locks. How much harder can getting a 2007 Acura TL Type-S for invoice be?

if you are willing to drive about an hour and a half you can do that. you need a paper trail to bring to the dealer, they obviuosly will not take your word. send out a shotgun email to the acura dealerships within a 100 mile radius. once you get someone to give you numbers on paper you can work them against everyone. it took me about a day to get an email for 35,495 07TL-S...i then took it to the dealer i wanted to deal with and they had a quote match and beat for 100 bucks less. so therefore i got it for 35,395...
until i pulled out the email with the figure of 35495 they were quoting 36800. i pulled the email and they didnt even say a word except ok.

yup ramsey or parkave.
Ramsey seems short in cars than Park Ave.
also, Park ave sells a lot more....so deal is rather easier
i went to both dealers this july for my 06 TSX, and Park ave was much better.

don't go to either open roads. they both SUCK!
I bought my '05 @ open road in wayne. We had come to an agreement over the phone ($33,000 OTD). When i got there, the guy tried to sell the car to be for $34,000 (not including tax and title). It turned out to be pretty heated, but having my super cut throat of a business man dad there, we were able to get it back to $33,000 OTD.
Open Road in East Brunswick are just a pain to deal with. It's hard to get them do any warranty work. On top of that, their prices for everything, are jacked up. (accesories and parts).

When you get prices, make sure that they list ALL the charges.
the car
mv fee
doc fee
etc.
When I was shopping I found that Open Road in E.Brunswick, played with the figures, they were $200 more for doc fees and $100 more for mv fees(figure that one out!). I wound up buying from DCH Montclair Acura.
BTW, you'll do much better if you do everything by email, don't go in person.
Funny thing is I just helped my daughter buy a 07 Civic, tried Open Road and DCH Academy Honda. Found the open rd honda did the SAME THING as open rd acura. Same BS. Bought it from DCH Honda for $300 over invoice (that's the civic).

Avoid Acura of Springfield
Didn't go over the new car with a fine tooth comb before delivery,
in my excitement didn't notice that car had 50 miles on it, not a full tank, wasn't prepped correctly

so according to these posts:
Open Road (both locations) - bad, but service is good
Park Ave - bad
Montclair - bad
Springfield - bad
Ramsey - so far, so good. I was there four years ago and their prices were pretty
good. By the way, did they build a new showroom ? That old building they were in was small.
Bridgewater - nothing so far, someone I know had a good experience there.
Denville - nothing so far

Bridgewater is GREAT. Went w/ a friend to get his car, and they were nothing but respectable and honored their word and everything. Didn't try to pull a fast one on anyone.
However...when i went there to check out a used STI that they had, with intent to potentially buy, they didnt even give me a chance. I'm a 21 year old kid driving around a TL, and i guess their internet sales manager thought, "some spoiled kid just wants to go for a joy ride...forget it."
He said, and i quote, "sorry, we only let you test drive after you purchase the vehicle."
Other than that guy, everyone else was nice.

If i were to buy my car at say...an Acura dealership in PA, do i have to bring it BACK to there anytime a problem arises? My friend SWEARS he saw 3.5% APR up there when i said 3.9. Nonetheless he knows the Branch Manager or someone high up there.
I just got a quote from DCH Montclair for 36,500 and then when i said i am a member of this board he said he will work with me to get it lower...sounded pretty good to me.
Also, is it possible to get a car (not specifically this one) UNDER invoice?

Another vote for Ramsey
I talked to everyone (15 dealers within 20 miles of my house) and settled on Acura of Ramsey. Stu Fogler dealt with me very professionally on the phone and through email. When I showed up at the dealership there were no unpleasant surprises. He got me out the door and into my car in record time. I didn't even have time for free coffee!
Stu and his finance guy, Jorge, are a well-oiled machine. They beat everyone's price and everyone's financing rate.

Don't go to Open Road
I would never buy another car from there again! I bought a used CL S 6spd. It was the worst experience I've had buying a car. The sales person lies to me about the condition of the car at time of delivery. He said everything would be taken care of when I came to pick up the car and absolutely nothing was done when it came time to get the car.
One of the rims were bent, I had to argue with the used car sales manager on the definition of a "bent" rim before he would replace it. There was a cracked tail light that needed to be replaced before delivery. I had to go back two times to get this fixed, only to have them swap tail lights with another CL on the lot. When I asked why it took soo long, they said they were waiting for the part! I pointed out that I saw the same cracked tail light on the other CL. There actually were more issues involved!
As stated before worst experience ever purchasing a car!
