Best Deal I've Found on Cabin Filters

Charcoal impregnated. Looks good, so I ordered one today. Better deal than the ATP-HA5 from Rockauto.com that I usually get. From the picture, it looks like it has even more charcoal.

I'll let yiz know how it looks & works when I get it.

Got an email from that seller, he said he has a whole bunch more of these filters coming in next week and will re-list it when they do. After all, the price is Right! $11.70 shipped.

As for that rockauto ATP-HA5, the 2nd one I bought last year seemed to have less charcoal than the one I ordered from them 2 years prior, and also seems to not filter out odors as well as the one I originally got from them.

The addition of charcoal provides odor reduction in addition to particulates. The more charcoal in the filter, the better job it does of eliminating odors. Charcoal acts like a sponge, that's why it's used in most water filters to reduce chlorine taste and odor.

Here's a good test. Once you've installed a charcoal impregnated filter, cut a huge fart with the windows closed, (preferably after eating at Taco Bell or White Castle the night before), turn on the ventilation system at top fan speed set to recirculate. The smell will be gone in a few minutes

Came today!

Looks exactly like the picture on ebay. Definitely more odor absorbing charcoal than the ATP-HA5 from Rockauto. The only other thing I notice is there's no directional arrow for airflow. Should that matter?

I'll post a report again after I install it (who knows when the fuck that'll be), and I give it the fart test.

Stay tuned .............

be careful with the fart test! I'll be awaiting the results, I'll order filters for the TL and MDX!

So I just installed the HA5 and tried it out with the fart test which leads me to a related question: can anyone recommend a good leather cleaner?

Most farts dissipate in minutes, filtered or not. Not seeing how this would prove anything unless you're eating like two-week-old Taco Bell and White Castle chasing it with a cup of butter milk. That'd be a real bomb.

I got this one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00..._ya_oh_product
Its more expensive than the ebay one. Haven't installed it though but it got good reviews from a lot of Honda owners.
