Which is the best buffer?
Hello there, I want to buy a buffer that will work and give that shiny look. Does anybody know what brand is really good to buy? Also what type of cleaning agent do I have to buy so that I can apply it with the buffer? Pleints give me some tips and hints on using the buffer.

look for post by ExcelDetail, a real detailer who also sells TOP quality stuff
Claybar is a good thing to know about for paint cleaning

If you get less than the Porter Cable 7424 or the UDM your basically wasting yourtime and money.
There is some good links on my web page in the drop downs on what it is and how to use it.

Ultimate Detailing Machine (UDM) is #1 and the Porter Cable (PC) is #2
If you have both then you have a powerfull combination for all your detail needs.

If thats the case get at least the PC .. the UDM might be a little overkill for the beginner ot if your not doing a lot of cars.
UDM is having some issues from what I have been reading and mine has showed a couple of the symptoms.

It has no speed or power nor the abillty to put the right pads on it etc.
PC is $119 at Coastal Tool and pads are about $10 each .. then get polishes which you need anyway no matter the machine.

I have a UDM, which I'm very pleased with. Keep in mind I have a new '07 CGP TL, which at this point has required no paint correction (no swirls, scratches, etc). I would highly recommend it.
Here are some links to past threads here on Acurazine, found in the Wash & Wax forum.
1. Got the New UDM a couple days ago.
2. UDM (Ultimate Detailing Machine)
3. Here's a link to the UDM forum over at Autopia.org
Check out the Wash & Wax section here on AZ, there's lots of great info. Also, like I mentioned above, www.autopia.org has some good info and their forum is great for detailing questions / info.
Good luck in your search and be sure to update us with before and after pics

I'm not sure if Autopia is still offering it, but if you sign up as a member on their site, you should get an email with a 20% discount code, that's how I bought mine. So it's $149.99 - $30 (20% off) = $119.99. That's the best deal that I've found. But again, I'm not sure if they still have that offer.
