Replaced the moleskin and now I am ready to tint again, just wanted to get your thoughts on what brand is the best out there?

Either way, I heard the best ones were (in no particular order):
SolarGuard
Llumar
Suntek
HuperOptik
I know Suntek claims to have the thickest tint, and best resistence to scratching. I have SolarGuard and Sunktek on my cars. Both have lifetime warranty.

i think this is kinda a thread that is like... who makes the best beer?? Everyone will have their own opinion... but I am still interested to see the replies...
I have had Llumar and SolarGuard, and can attest to their good quality... what i have now I'm 99% sure is Llumar, 13% or 15% on the front sides, 5% on the back sides and rear... oh yeah... and like 35% or something on the windshield... (yes, the whole thing). Of coure most places that will do that dark of tint, and the windshield, wont give you a receipt, so make sure you've either used them before and trust them, or they come recommended from friends... I miss that I'm not in KS and don't know of a good shop that will do that for me, and warranty their work by just having me in their computer... the place I used in Jax (Jacksonville, FL) was great!!! between me, friends, and family, I probably know of at least 10 cars that they did... they did my windshield on three of my cars... If anyone wants their windshield done, just make sure they've done it before b/c it is a little tricky i think... not really sure why, but all the other windows were always great, but on one of the cars the windshield had to be done a second time... and on another it had to be done three times to get it right... (like i said, they were a trustworthy shop... no receipt but they were glad to do it again and get the job done right!)

from all my researching, HO films outperform all other brands. however, i cannot attest to it's durability or how well it applies to automotive glass. HO is primarily used for commercial applications.
i have HO creamic-40, looks mint, will never fade, etc. also cost a pretty penny.

I personally like 3M. Warranty covers all those items. Hmmm, now what to do about Rosco.

This is really a personal choice question with no clear answer. Many brands work very well. I think most important is you find a skilled person to place it. Check these web sites out though.

You'll find info on different brands at tintcenter.

The tintdude is a forum. If you do some searching there, the people in the forum (ie mostly tint installers) will tell you its personal preference. The brands listed by other people on this thread all do well. They can look different so see the tint you're paying for on a car in the sun first. The forum will also say that all brands purple over time, no matter what the warranty says. It seems the warrantys are all marketing ploys. But hey, its nice to have when the tint does go bad in ten years or whenever. Huber seems to have the most heat rejection, but is spendy. Llumar is a great performer and it seems all the installers say its the most installer friendly. Huber and 3m seem to be harder to work with.
