When people on these forums report a price of "below MSRP", is that before or after the destination charge is applied? Here's an example for what I am referring to:
Fictional MSRP: $10,000
Destination Charge: $545
John Doe gets an offer of $9,000
Jane Doe gets an offer of $9,545
Which of these users is getting "$1,000 below MSRP"?

I am not sure, but hte destination charge is extra so it would prob be the $9,000 one? I got my TL last month for only a few hundred $ above INVOICE ($30,800), and i was not charged a destination charge either. i jsut drove with my cousin 2 miles and picked it up.

Destination charge IS part of MSRP (just look at a window sticker). It is also a net item. The dealer pays the amount on the window sticker - there is not an "invoice" price for destination that is lower than MSRP for it.
Bottom line - you have to count it as part of MSRP.

Wait a second... EXCEPT my early build sticker has differnt words as yours.
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is WITHOUT "Destination and Handling" ($545.00).
For example, mine is 5AT Navi, over the sticker, it says:
MSRP: $34,650.00
Full Tank of Fuel: No Charge
MSRP includes: ..... etc.
Destination and Handling: 545.00
Total Vehicle Price: $35,195.00 <----------- lots of ppl and websites still call this M.S.R.P.
(includes Pre-Delivery Services)
merth, don't need to split hairs and get into a dead end like this. When you negotiate the discount, try to get the most discounts you could get, then later try to squeeze that destination charge out of your bill... if you like...

i never had to pay a destination charge. Is it because i picked the car up myself at the dealer? i only paid 30,800 for my blk on blk.

I bet they had discounted that out for you, it's part of the deal to attract ppl coming to buy cars.
For example,
1. $545.00 below MSRP and ask you to pay all the processing fee. Or, sell you MSRP but waive your $545.00.
2. $2.5k below MSRP or $2k below MSRP (then they tell you the destination fee will be waived too), they are the same.
Since there is some space out there for negotiation right now, dealers could use any terms or any words to make you happy and statisfied. IMO.

Which ones do you prefer? Dealers told you the truth and provide the discount as big as possible in your first talk, or you like dealers play tricks with you...
As long as you got the deal you like, and enjoy this damn car, you will be the happiest guy in the world.

I think it's more common to say "below sticker" than "below MSRP."
Either way, I'd assume you were referencing the sticker total. Destination is a real part of the cost even if it's a different line item on the sticker.

Here is my deal:
MSRP = $33,195
ADJ CAP Cost = $30,283
Residual = 51% or $16,929
Money Factor = .0022 or an APR of 5.28%
Term = 48 Months
NJ Sales Tax - 6%
= $405 per month
I’m doing a 48 month lease, 12K annual, no money down except inception fees ($1,268). I’m paying $405 per month. I couldn’t believe it since the selling price… $30,283.00 is $17.00 UNDER invoice.
Go see Park Ave Acura in NJ. You have till the end of July.
