battery warranty
okay, I've read all the other posts about the OEM battery sucking,..and of coarse my battery dided yesterday after 24 months.
So WHAT is the warranty on these things> and what should I expect from the dealer when I get there?

The warranty is prorated and the amount you will pay for replacement will be determined based on the total warranty vs. used (24 months). In my 2002 TL the battery has a sticker that indicates 100 months warranty. Check yours and calculate.
Full details are given in your warranty booklet. For example, if you have used the battery for 25-36 months, you will get a credit of 60% off of the current retail price.
You could ask the dealer how much the retail price is, and then check somewhere else for the price of the replacement battery.
Some people have reported there is a better brand to buy, but I can't remember what it is and haven't found it in a search, so maybe someone will post here and let you know.

I think these are the posts that Ron was trying to find.

Comment:
How do these batteries "suck"? - (are there no better words left in the English language? I have not seen an inordinate number of threads defining the suckage.
General recommendation:
1) Use a Battery Minder (mfd by Deltran - sold under many names) - it will extend the life of the batt considerably - this is essential if you let your car lay up for weeks at a time. MY S2000 is permanently wired with one.
2) Never let a marginal battery go on - replace it - otherwsie, you may be replacing an alternator soon, as it works harder to offset a weak batt - the batt acts somewhat in the role as a capacitor, buffering the electrical system from current load swings.
