Battery goes dead

Is anyone else having a problem with the battery going dead if the car is not used for a few days? Nothing seems to be turned on and all the doors and trunk lid are closed all the way.... any ideas what might be causing this???

Cold weather perhaps? Actually you should be good for at least a month in cold weather. Perhaps you have a short, or the battery is bad. You should take your car to the dealer and have them put the tester on the battery. They'll be able to tell immediately if the battery is bad (or getting there).

Not a clue. You must definitely have a light somewhere that is not shutting off. Check the trunk, glove compartment, center compartment and the dome lights. Another possibilty is a bad alternator (doubt it if warning light is not comming on. I have an uncle that had a recurring dead battery problem with a 99 TL It drove him nuts and I'm not sure how it was resolved.

Check the hydrometer on the battery. Make sure it is blue.

I suppose you could always to to an autoshop that tests batteries for free...

You could also use a current tester to make sure that no current is geing used when the car is "off".

Mine sat for over a week without a problem, and yours should be able to go at least several weeks if not longer without going dead. It sounds like you have an electrical short/drain, or a faulty battery. Bring it in to your dealer and have them square it away because everything including the battery is under warrantee.

When I took my car in for service, I noticed a memo stating battery replacement/warranty alert memo for 2004 TL from Acura Corp to Service Dealers. (this was actually about 4 weeks ago)

I didn't get a chance to read the entire memo. The memo was stuck on a door window leading to the main service bay.

My TL has been in my garage for about a week and a half. I'm not driving it due to snow deep enough to scrape the underside of the car, gravel on the roads, etc. I was a little concerned about the possible state of the battery, although with most cars this would be no cause for concern yet. I put my charger on the battery and within two minutes it said it was fully charged. So, no problem.

My 02 TL was in the garage since the end of November without starting in PA and it cranked right over yesterday so a month shouldn't be a problem with a new car.
