With your 107mph trap speed, I'm sure you can make it in 2 days lol

Btw, a video was just posted of the race in question

I wanna come too! He may get there before me with that 107 trap though. But wait...since my car must be within .3 and 3mph of his times, maybe I'll get there before him

I think these threads are done, the videos proved that the G35S 6MT will edge a TL 6MT from a dig and the TL can hold it's own from a roll .. nothing surprising here.

^^ And that a fully bolted TL 6MT is needed to keep up with an otherwise stock 6MT HR G35. They were good runs, just a little unsafe driving into oncoming traffic

Where do you see the traffic? 1st video or 2nd video?

1st video, the ''traffic'' is like 2 miles in front of us...

Anyway, no more videos on this site. Next time I'll call the cops and make sure they blocked the road before I race lol! I live in a village with 2000 peoples, there's no traffic here lol!

Unless I'm mistaken, I'm pretty sure you switched lanes in the 2nd video because of an oncoming car. By "traffic" I didn't mean a jam of cars . Driving the wrong way in a lane is considered driving into oncoming 'traffic.'

I get where you're coming from. The car was far ahead of you and you moved over with more than ample time. But I'm sure there is a road out there with 2 lanes going in the same direction.

the "traffic" was the oncoming car that wizzed by just seconds after you pulled behind the G35 in the 2nd video posted.

clearly you know what happened in your own video... no need to try and continuously defend it.

Did you see the damage the HR did to the bolt-on 6MT TL in the 2nd race? That's well over 8 cars+ to 135mph. The HR just kept pulling and pulling. Teteux seems to think it was only 2 to 3 car lengths, but the video paints a very different picture. 2 car lengths would mean the G's back bumper would be about 15 feet ahead of the TL's front bumper. That G was tiny by the end of the run.

So what do you think would have happened if that G would have had to slam the brakes at 120mph with you going 115mph right behind him? I'll make it easy for you, at that speed and distance, you'd be into him by the time your foot moves from the accelerator and fully depresses the brake pedal.

A passenger is going to play that significant of a roll in that type of a race.

Dude, your 30. Just admit it was wreckless. You and your buddy didn't get hurt, but that doesn't mean it was all good and safe.

Have most of us done stupid things in the car? Of course. But at least some of us can admit when we were wrong, and that there are better places to do things like this.

Dave, you have to remember the TL had the passenger the 2nd run. The 1st run the G did, and still managed to be even/slightly pull top end. With no passengers in either vehicle, I'd expect the G to pull 3-4 cars in the same race based on what I saw in those 2 videos.

When you're in the losing car, it's hard to judge the distance. Lol.

Now I know how that bolt on B16 Civic felt after he ran me

Why are arguing about cars we don't own??? lol

My own TL is faster then Dave's G35 and Sonnicks Accord is faster then both of our cars.

Back to chicken noodle soup this e-racing business is old news.

According to his other thread, he said the G "missed his launch", whatever that means. I read that as he was late with hitting the accelerator. Just a 1/2 second difference (which is impossible to gauge with the eye) has big implications in racing. Snooze on the line in 14.0 second car and react .3 seconds slower than your opponent that runs an identical 14.0 will net you a ~2 car loss at the end of the strip.

I just watched the video again. .

The G had 2-3 cars by ~80mph. Probably 4+ at 100. And easily 7-8+ cars by the end. Spot on Dave. This really shows the upper RPM power of the HR motor.

Idk Alex, I think we'd have a good run

In the 2nd video, it was a low 1st gear roll...the worst for the TL. I start spinning and he gripped right away, therefore he had the momentum all the race. It should of been a 2nd gear roll instead. He pulled me hard in 4th gear, but you can see the pulling stop in 5th gear...he had 4-5 cars not more. 8 cars is what I could do to Dave's G35

Both cars with no passenger, roll 2nd gear...i think it would pull 1-2 cars max...

SOOO many G's in the 13's.....

most of which are boosted.

the fastest NA posted was a 13.5 and he just got a new engine before that time.

Guess you missed the Top 25 1/4 mile thread in the stickies of the Drag section. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated since 2009. However, the thread itself is 11 pages long and has numerous Gs posting 13 second 1/4 miles. Most FI Gs are deep in the 12s or 11s.

Here are some more recent cars posting 13 second slips with NA Gs.

Here's an 04 G35 5AT coupe going 13.1s@107mph with all the bolt-ons plus a high stall torque converter and shift kit:

http://g35driver.com/forums/drag/359...7-g35-5at.html

Here's an 03 G35 5AT sedan with a spacer, catback, and polished lower plenum going 13.9s@102mph:

http://g35driver.com/forums/drag/360...11-new-pb.html

Bolt-on 05 6MT coupe going 13.8s@104mph:

Yes, I'll be there. I'll be happy to race you at Kansas City International Raceway on Friday night during Test-n-Tune. KCIR is about 15 miles east of the Acura dealer. It's $20 to race. Gates open at 5pm. Racing from 6pm to 10pm.

In! That would be a really good run. Especially since Dave has a couple little mods he hasn't ran at the track yet.

Let's start another thread to bicker and analyze the data of this run!

Surely we can get more people to come out that night, especially the local TL owners. If your TL has front rotors smaller than 11.5", I'll let you borrow my 15" DRs for a few runs. Conditions will probably suck though. Don't expect any personal bests. The track is at 1000' and situated near a river. In the summer, it's hot and humid at the strip.

Hey i will take a track at 1000' with hot and humid conditions anyday over SIR here in Tucson Dave! The track here is at 3075' and the DA conditions never get better than 4200ft at best in the winter! In the summer we can be around 7000+. There will always be the correction factor but I would love to run at a track with a great DA!

If I only trap 100mph, according to some people, how would I walk a GS350, G35, S60R, 350Z, murder a Speed3, etc....I don't make up these races. I was dead even with a 335i convertible and I'm sure that thing traps at least 102mph, what does that tell you! Maybe a few of the races are driver errors but for the most part I've ran them multiple times.
hm...i believe ya. i really just don't get why the vq37vhr's don't fair well on rolling races? it's just not a highway car, but more so a low end, from a dig, type of machine........?

The VQ37HR is a beast from a roll. Both the G37/370z have relatively long gears, but they suit its powerband pretty well. A couple of the newer G37s are trapping 105-106 bone stock.

i suppose. but to put things into perspective...fan_888's tl-s 6mt fully bolted on pulls quite a bit from any rolling speed - if we kept going, i'd give it 2-3 car lengths; unless we do 4th gear pulls.

edit: maybe 1-2
