Baking the Headlights

This is my 2005 headlights. I probably will not change my current TLS headlights. But I would if I could find some authentic Halo's like a BMW. Those are not like the typical halo's I see aftermarket. I need to polish the inside of my headlights on my 08's because the clear piece got slightly discolored from heat. So, I was using my 05 headlights as an experimental try to see if I could get it open. If so, then I will proceed to the 08's. As far as heat is concerned on the 08's, I am only running 6v through the DRL bulbs but appearantly that's still too much. So I bought a high power variable resistor to choak it back even more. The VR will work out easily since it uses connectors I already have in place. I think my 08 DRL were slightly too bright even with running at 6v, so if I treat brightness in porportion to voltage, then I will try to cut back the voltage to 4v. Maybe 4.5.
Anyway, as far as these 05 headlights, I don't know what I want to do with them. I might paint them for someone or just sell them after I clean them up. I do not plan on putting any clear coat on the plastic. Nor would I sand the plastic. These 05's are not that bad.

It's not that difficult. Bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees. We pulled my headlights apart by hand, so it shouldn't be too bad. Once you have the headlights modded, put back together. I highly recommend you getting more Butyl from the auto parts store. That way, you'll be assured of no condensation once you put the lights back together. We baked them once again (same time and temp), to insure a tight fit.
Best of luck-it's well worth it....

Btw, I my sell these new lenses I bought because I didn't realize it but the TLS lenses are almost clear as the have a greatly reduced fresal effect than that of an 05 TL. But these other lenses have a notch on the side.Whereas my TLS lenses do not. So I want to make sure they didn't sell me the wrong thi.g before I try to resell. Gottom from TRS.
