Bad service experience.

Hey everyone...

I live in Waterloo, ON (for my school). I went to Toronto three weeks ago but TL had some serious transmission problem when I got there, so I got it towed to the nearest dealership (Acura of Norto Toronto). It also had some navigation problem (takes about 30-50mins to start; keeps on rebooting by itself till then). It was a saturday morning so seemed like they didn't bother fixing it that day and decided to work on it from monday. Then I headed back to Waterloo and thought it would be done by next weekend or so.
Next friday, I called them before I went there cause I had a lot of school stuff to do didn't want to waste time moving back and forth (which would take about three hours). They told me the car was ready, so I went there to pick it up the same day. But when I went there, they told me it wasn't and that they looked at the wrong work order; the tranny was replaced but there were still some other problems needed to be fixed. So I was like what the -_-.. I went back to Waterloo, and got a call from them on monday saying that it's ready, but not the navi (they say they won't diagnose it cause it had an aftermarket parts..a rear view cam. but the problem had been there even before I installed it). But then after a while, some other guy there told me the navi CAN be repaired or replaced under warranty, provided that I pay a 1hr labour fee for diagnosing it (because of the aftermarket parts). My TL is '05 and 66k km fyi. Then I called that guy again after a few days and he said he will tell the mechanics to look into it. He called me back, saying that it's NOT under warranty anymore cause it went over 60k..and that it's THREE hours labour fee, not one..then why the eff did he say it's under warranty in the first place -_-. So I was like screw this, I can't wait any longer and need the damn thing right now.

Long story short, the two service managers there say different things everytime I talk to them. Might be cause of my age but like serisouly..wtf this took me like three weeks. I'm not expecting them to treat me like a royal customer or w/e but at least do things on time and be consistent in what they say.

I also got kinda ripped off in Fairview Acura (which is in where I live) a while ago for replacing break pads.

So..is it just me, or are most of the Acura dealerships like this?
Have you guys ever had any bad experiences like this?
I wonder if Lexus is any better for these stuff.

Age probably did have something to do with it. The way you talk, the way you dress all factor in as well. That's just humanity. We are judged by our appearance, no matter how you cut it. Regarding service, I've NEVER heard of anyone having bad things to say about Lexus' service. Everyone I've known who owns Lexus vehicles always compliment their service. As for Acura stealership service...well, it's a crapshoot!

WOW, sorry tohear that. I think it all depends on where you go for service. I have never had a problem with Jenkins Acura in Florida. They are very friendly and seem to take good care of me. I guess that's why they were voted #1 Acura service in Florida.

Hey, technically an aftermarket part kills the warranty =) Sorry to say, but it's true. Even a cold air intake can kill your warranty, depending on how tolerant the dealership is to your.
