Bad Motor mounts

I just brought my car to my Acura Dealer to have mt brakes done and they had a laundry list of stuff they said I needed. They said my front motor mounts need replacing?? I have 60K miles but only 2 years old and no vibration?? He said $500?? Does this sound right. They also wanted me to have my EGR cleaned? My check engine light never came on? What do you guys think? Does anyone know a good Acura shop in South Florida I can trust?

If your going to get new mounts, I would check these out:https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ght=innovative.

maybe you do need the mounts, here's a simple test:
let the car get up to operating temps.

drive for alittle and then stop at a redlight. With the car in D, does the shifter, steering or seat shake slightly? If yes you need new mounts. If not, then you don't. THIS test only works for factory mounts...

500 is too much. I payed about 380 for them. So do a little more shopping around. I also agree with Tripnbeats, go for innovative

too bad the dealerships don't believe that. i've been back to them 3 times for the same issue, and since the car isn't throwing a code they are clueless on what the issue is. i was told that i just have to deal with it

As was mentioned, take a look at the Innovative mounts. They are much more durable and they help reduce wheel hop. You will get some additional vibration in the cabin b/c it uses a polyurethane bushing but it is reasonable enough to deal with rather than replacing OE mounts frequently. We have the mounts for $315 shipped to the cont US

the car wont throw codes for motor mounts.....i use to break mine every other day and ride around for a while on them....bring it to acura and be like hey man its broke fix it.
theyd fix it and id break them again.....i dont beat the shit out of the car so thats the best part of it.... you can indicate if the car has been beaten or not and they dont know what to make of it.... so i got the innovative mounts and couldnt be happier...the start up when its really cold is rough until the oil starts to circulate.....then it smooths out. I only had one problem with innovative mounts because i didnt tighten the bolts down hard enough (or I thought I did and didnt) and I broke the rear one. They replaced the mount no questions and its right back to normal. The "engineers" who come to inspect the car from honda when its been in for 600 times for the same thing....sat there n looked at the mounts and said hey thats the problem to your rack breaking..... i was like hey dick lover....those are brand new....tell me why the rack broke 6 times before this time....dude shut up and warrantied it again. lol....just gotta talk to them as they talk to u.....but you also have to know they HAVE to prove whatever you put in the car is breaking it....99% of the time its not the part you put in the car thats breaking it....they try to blame it on that so they dont have to do their jobs and charge you a shit ton of money

If they don't believe it, ask them to loosen the mounts finger tight and then see if the vibration happens. If no vibration, problem solved.

Funny you should ask. Yesterday Tripinbeats posted that he broke (1 or 2?) his. You should be able to find his thread pretty easily.

i think I have the same problem. My steering wheel vibrates when stopped at a red light. The vibrations are not that bad but are clearly noticeable when I grab the steering wheel. I think warranty covers this right? I don't feel like spending money now.

In total, how many sets of motor mounts have you broken? (Wait .... you don't have to answer that in public if you don't want to).

Fluke? I think it's you.

ummmm stock motor mounts since i bought the car in 05.... 7.... innovative mounts since they came out.... 2.... the innovative mount came loose from the bolt on top and took the front with it as well because of the jerking once the clutch was engaged..... as soon as i felt jerking and weird movement i stopped driving the car and when i had time i took it all apart.

PLUs Acura's design flaw on the motor mount and positioning is horrible!!! I drive a 2002 Lexus as my everyday car and that shit box has more motor mounts than the shit box that cant be driven because of broken mounts.....it has 4 mounts on the bottom for the motor alone!! and a torque bar on top so theres no excessive shifting in the motor and 3 tranny mounts....y does the lex have so many mounts and no vibrations or problems with motor mounts and the TL does.....the lex does even come close to the HP or torque and they throw in all that extra shit???? If you ask me they did a hell of a lot more homework than honda did.
