Bad Luck
Bad Luck
Hey Guys... so my TL is 2 days old and today I am driving it back to the dealer to pick up the all season mats they owed me and I notice a shiny phillips screw stuck in my back left tire. I start going crazy since this car is brand new and even though I figure the dealer wont do anything for me I bring it up while I am there. So the service tech comes out and says "wow that must be a long screw in there" and then says since I just bought the care they will do me a "favor" and sell me a new tire for cost which they claim is 200 bucks. I start going crazy and just tell them I am going to drive on it for a while. On the way home I stop by discount tire. The service guy sees where the screw is located (about 2 inches from the side wall) and quickly tells me he will repair it for me for no charge since I have bought tires from the in past. He then proceeds to quickly remove the screw which only turns out to be about 1/4 inch long and tells me that it is nothing to worry about since it barely went into the tread. Just for kicks I ask him how much a new tire (Bridgestone 17inch W rated) tire is and he quotes me $196.00. This pisses me off because the dealer was trying to screw me... giving me BS that he is selling me the tire for his "cost"
Well I guess this turned out to be more of a rant than I wanted to but all in all I guess I am lucky and it all could have been much worse.

The same happened to me, but not in 2 days.. More like a few months old.. I just got the tire patched up by a local mechanic... He did it for free... Over time it loses a tiny bit of pressure as expected, but I just reinflate.
