Can someone please tell me what the metal anchor or latch is for that is mounted on the rear deck between the back seats? It has a little plastic piece that covers it and once you flip it open you see a firmly mounted hook or latch of some sort. Theres even a little description of how to use it but it makes no sense to me. Can someone tell me whats its designed for and how to use it?

It's a child safety seat anchor.
An upper tether strap for the child safety seat goes there, while the lower straps go into the latches at the seat bottoms, per the owner's manual.
