Back with a TL Type-S
Hi all,
I joined the forum back in 2011 when I got my first TL, an 08 CBP with Nav. I had it for a few years and traded it for a 2010 SH-AWD. I ended up getting rid of the TL and have had several different vehicles since I sold it. Back in January 2018 I got a great deal from a private seller on a 2010 MDX Advance. It was great but unfortunately got horrendous gas mileage and suffered from the common oil usage problem. I ended up selling the MDX and have been driving my "beater" since then, a 2008 Civic EX-L 5-speed that currently has 283,000 miles! (and runs like a new one). I had planned on waiting for the mid-cycle refresh on the new Accords and get a Sport 2.0T 6MT, but I guess the universe had other plans.
I NEVER get on Facebook marketplace, but one Sunday I just happened to look on there. The first thing that popped up was a 2007 TL Type-S with 70,000 miles and 6-speed for $10,000. The ad had been posted only an hour beforehand so I contacted the guy and went and looked at it a couple of hours later (luckily it was only 30 minutes away). It was in great condition for a 12 year old vehicle.
Long story short, I knew if I wanted the car I had to jump on it quick! So I bought it from him the next day. He said he had tons of interest in it, but luckily I was the first person to look at it, so he gave me priority.
I always wanted a TL Type-S with a manual and now I can finally say that I have one!

crazy what a premium the stick cars command over the slushboxes. i am also trying to keep mine stockish while making "why wouldnt it come like this from the factory?" common sense upgrades. with that said, consider a resonator delete.

Yeah, when I bought my 2006 6MT TL there was a 2016 TLX on the lot, V6 automatic, for only $6,000 more than I paid for my car.

I agree about the Type S badge. I took the Acura badge off and then debated for a while whether or not to take the type s off. I think I will be putting that one back on at some point.
