Back Deck rattle/noise

This noise is coming from the back deck and it annoys the hell out of me. everytime i drive i can hear the rattle. i thought it might of been the subwoofer but i turned off the system, rattle was still there! Any idea on what i can do to get rid of this noise? I brought it to the dealer and they said they cant hear anything. They knew there was a rattle too!

Same here

Same rattle you describe, I even took the service rep on a test drive and he admitted he heard it (along with a couple other rattles). He said it could probably be fixed by putting some sort of padding or filler in there. After they took my car for the day though, he said the mechanics "couldn't duplicate" the problem. Even if it takes a little driving, I would suggest finding a good service dept, maybe even a honda one! You really have to push some of these dealerships to get anything, sad that after you buy a 35k car they don't act like they want your business anymore...

One source of rattle without music is the seat belt retract assmbly, I belevie there may be a service bulletin on that now, if nto a good tech will find a way to pad it without interfering witht he mechanism. If you have a buzzing noise, especially with moderate bass, the back deck is vibrating. Several attempts and I finally told them to screw mine down. Much better now, only under rare circumstances will I hear a buzz. 3 of the 5 screws are hidden, the other 2 they used screw caps and sprayed them color of back deck and placed them evenly on eaither side of sub.

Seats have to come out, a royal pain, thats why I let the dealer work onit, but I did "assist" the time they screwed it down to make sure it was acceptable to me.

Reflection, they were great, not a mark on the tint and the tint is in perfect shape. That reflection is actually some sort of silver stuff that is on the bottom of the deck, I guess when put the deck back you see it a little in the gap via the reflection, whihc the camera flash has over exaggerated. The tech at the dealer was as anal and obsessive as they come, treated my car liek it was one of his own. I am sure letting them screw it down saved me a few more trips as they woudl try stuff and it woudl be quiet for a week or 2 then buzz again. Now it has been 99.9% quiet for 2 months!

Rattle in Rear Deck Area

I believe my rattle is the housing for the sub-woofer. I can hear it on rough roads and with the bass up. I can also hear the rattle when I tap on the rear deck area next to the subwoofer.

The sub bolts right into a metal sub fram about 2 inches below the deck and then there is a hollow cavity below that. I beleive my screws are 2.5 inches long to go through deck and go through metal frame below. Are you sure when you tap the deck you are not hearing the noise from the center seat belt retractor?
