B2 Service at Rallye Acura: $595?!?!
So I called Rallye Acura and asked them how much a B2 service was... after 3 transfers and 10 minutes of waiting, I get some guy and he says that it's $595.
Is that reasonable? Cause I think that's bullshit.
B2 service: Oil change, Tire rotation, and dust pollen filter change or something
and a bunch of other useless stuff
Is this service really $600? My oil life is <5% ..any suggestions?

600? ummm I dont know about that but you should definitely get an oil change ASAP
Why not just get the main thing you want/need done seperately?
For example-just get an oil change, Cabin Filter, and your tires rotated and you should be fine IMO

Call another Acura dealer. Also, a non-dealer Acura/Honda mechanic can probably do the whole thing for you for less than $200, or most of the B2 service for about $100 without the cabin filter change (which requires glove box removal and is a little involved).

overpriced by at least $400.
hell- you and rocky just did your headlights that took 16 hrs. take some of the DIY off of this forum and change the cabin/engine air filter/oil yourself.

is changing the cabin air filter that hard? the oil change you should be able to do yourself, and the tire rotation is easy as shit, maybe a bit time consuming. what is the other "bunch of useless stuff"? maybe it justified the price

1. A jug of Mobil 1 syn oil - say, $30.00
2. A Mobil M1-110 filter - say, $7.00
Pay local gas station for oil/filter change & tire rotation - say, $80.00
Reset minder yourself - very easy.
That makes it bout $120. The cabin filter and the rest of the 5 hundred zillion 'checks' should not cost more than another $100.
Absolutely no STealer necessary for basic maintenance work.

Sounds like the OP was transferred a number of times. Once he finally got someone, maybe they were giving a price for something else and simply picked up the wrong extension. Maybe it was a new kid. Maybe they were just yanking your chain? Maybe you dialed the wrong digits and the guy with that number just got tired of answering calls for a business that was not his. In any case, call back. Call another dealer, etc. NO WAY is that service a $600 one.

Crest Acura in syracuse? They actually installed my a-spec kit for me haha.
Those would all be possibilities if I were still at school.
I think i'm going to call rallye back and get a more reasonable estimate. thanks for all your help and concernicus guys.

I did my engine and Cabin air filters myself. The cabin was pretty easy after I read the posting on this site. I used a K&N filter for the Engine and both together cost less than $100.
I bring my car to the "Express Lube" in New Hyde Park for its oil changes. Mobil-1 with a Honda filter and they vacuum the car, check tire pressure and clean the windows all for around $70. I like taking it to them because I can watch them do the work and I never had a problem.
I bought my car at Rallye, but it is a little too far away for simle oil changes. I have brought my car there a couple of times to get flat tires fixed and I never had a problem and their price for the work was fair.
Get your oil changes ASAP....

I know you said B2 but what's your mileage?
To the OP... what's your mileage? I kind of have the same dilemna. I have an A12, but basically, some guy and Marin Acura said that I would have to do the 30k service soon which is 400! Cabin Filter change, Oil, Tires Rotated, Re-torque suspension (even though I"m on Teins?), brake fluid replacement, and some other BS... is this worth it? I'm just wondering if the OP was also at the 30k mark.
#28
IS the B2 the same as the 30k service? I'm due for that soon and Marin Acura quoted me 400+... is that right? Oil, Brake Fluid change, cabin filter, Re-torque suspension (even though I'm on TEINS??), and some other BS... is this worth it?

Replace engine oil*1 and oil filter - $30 max
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment
Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
Inspect suspension components
Inspect driveshaft boots
Inspect brake hoses and line (including ABS)
Inspect all fluid levels and condition of fluids
Inspect exhaust system#
Inspect fuel lines and connections#
Replace air cleaner element - $20 max
Replace dust and pollen filter - $15@ max

$600 for less than $100 worth of product.
Everyone should be an Acura mechanic instead of a doctor or lawyer.

And yes, I have to agree with you. It's actually easier to replace than most people think.

I think the real charge is for the inspection. I know where I work we charge a certain amount of time for a full vehicle inspection at 99 dollars an hour(labor rate).
Just an example...
Oil change is .4 hours
cabin filter is .3 hours
rotation is ..4 hours(I believe)
Full inspection is 1 hour(If I remember correctly)
If you look at that, it's a couple hundred in labor...not to mention the cost of parts. It's a little high, but you have to remember dealers charge more for their products. Also, their labor rate is 120 or 125 an hour IIRC. Their times could be differently as well, I am not certain about how their system works, but that is how ours works. Something along those lines.
