B2 Service

My B2 service due on my MID just popped up. I have 28K on my car now. Has anyone had this service yet and how much did it cost?

I had it done a week ago. Paid $250 for everything and had around 27000 miles on the car. Some dealers were asking for $290 for the same service..

What do you get for a B2??? Another oil change, tire rotation, and possibly a filter swap that anyone could do... O Yeah, don't forget the laundry list of items they say they check,,,, you know, crucial stuff like tire pressure... Again, that anyone could do - only better...

It's borderline fraudulent what the dealerships charge for so called "scheduled maintenance" on whatever vehicle now days.

Don't go into a dealer and ask for a packaged "Scheduled Mx". It's a complete rip off. Look in the owners manual folks. Go to the dealer and request only what is required at whatever mileage interval. If they tell you that it's included in such-n-such package and only want to sell it that way, go elsewhere.. Dealers are "sufficient" for one thing and "excellent" for another: warranty work and ripping you off.

Seriously, in everyday driving conditions their isn't much more than oil changes, tire rotations, a trans service, maybe belts and an air/fuel filter change that's really required within the first 60K miles.

I worked at a great dealership (numerous years ago) for 8+ years - they haven't changed, and I know the drill....
