B2 service 374.90???

So i went into Ray Laks Acura here in buffalo and was wondering how much they would quote me for a B2 service and they told me a:
the B service is: an oil & filter service, performing a four wheel caliper service where they disassemble clean & lubricate the calipers, rotate the tires & perform a check list of the vehicle $258.95 plus tax. The 2 part is replacing engine air filter & cabin filter $115.95 plus tax for a Total of $374.90
So yeah as i planned i will be doing everything myself and was wondering if it was really necessary to disassemble clean and lubricate the calipers at 51k miles?

The calipers should be lubricated when the pads are changed this should not be a seperate procedure

oil change, rotate tires, air filter, and cabin air filter...all in the diy garage...best if you do it yourself...the calipers should be fine

The calipers DO NOT need to be messed with at all during a B2 service.

The only way they need to be disassembled is if there is some type of issue with the caliper not working correctly. There is NO routine maintenance that needs to be done on the calipers.

I would pull the rotors and lube the contact points to hub- those things get stuck on bad!
Clean and regrease the pad backs and slider tabs of the brake pads to caliper bracket
Thats often overlooked and poor braking is a result

Flush brake fluid

nobody dismantles a caliper unless it blows a seal from never having the fluid changed- rust builds up inside- wiki hygroscopic for details

Um I think you guys are forgetting the caliper glide pins these should definitely be lubed during a pad change.

get the filters at any parts store
cabin filter with charcoal or antibacterial agents are really good for your health

based on the snow in your av- dealer may have found corrosion on many cars and suggest the calipers be taken off and everything be cleaned and lubed every xx miles
the book is based on engineers guess 10 years ago--not real world use

Yes lube the caliper slide pins too- I forget to say in my other post- free moving parts are important if you like to stop on demand, and not have a pad hang up stuck partially ON,,bad smell, lots of smoke...
